Purple 993

[A993LAD]

I passed a purple coloured 993 in Dartford Tunnel yesterday. Anyone on here?

It was quite definitely purple - not a slightly mauvish hue of blue. I was on my bike on the way home from Brands WSB so I only got a brief glance as I whizzed by. Nice car though - certainly stands out in a crowd. Makes Speed yello look positively boring.

Woke up at 5.30am. Went back for "five more minutes" and woke up at 11.20.

missed out 30+ cars headed down, invariably lost between the A3 services and Goodwood (!) and then 10 of us went east along the coast for the rest of the day. Knackering, sunburnt day but oh so worth it:

Not really. That one looks a bit of a metallic/violet sheen type thing.

The one I saw was quite definitely PURPLE, and I have said it was flat paint not metallic. Although I did not get a chance to study it as I was passing in the adjoining lane not following it.

I've never seen a 993, or any other Porsche, in the same colour. I guess it was a special order, and quite a brave one.

It was Vesuvius grey.

I reckon the colour of the 993 you saw at the weekend was called AMARANTH VIOLET. Check these pics and see if i'm right:

Well done guys. Yes I reckon that's the colour I saw.

So it's just a regular colour then? Nothing special.

Don't like that colour at all. Looks a bit Vauxhall Corsa'ish IMHO
Much prefer speed yellow any day !

I'm not to keen on it either Stubbsy. I actually was think about getting one the one I posted the pics of, but it was the colour that put me off in the end.

hey i don't mind that colour...........mind i like Yellow too so there you go, i guess i must be a bit strange, well according to our lass anyway.
