Having read previous posts concerning this, it would appear to be a bugger of a job that is well beyond my abilities and tool box contents.

Now I have an MOT coming up shortly and therefore have two options open to me.

1) I can book the car in with those lovely chaps at Silverstone Performance, who will be able to perform both tasks, but they are not exactly on my doorstep and are rightfully busy at weekends.

2) There is a new FastFit garage in Kingston (Milton Keynes), which can certainly handle the MOT, but would you trust them with your P&J in such a delicate operation?

Opinions or advise please...

I've done the job before. It depends how 'handy' you are. It is certainly fiddley and if you're in the TVRCC there is a thread I found invaluable with pics and everything. HERE

If you don't fancy it do option 1

..... do NOT let any operation who probably haven't seen a TVR before near your car or you'll have paint scratched as it is a job you need extreme care with as the paint is not the best on the wing mirrors.

Just fixed mine this morning, if the 'turret' is broken, try fleabay (that's where I found mine), they're not exactly readilly available..........
The only tricky bit was removing the torx bolt as it was full of locktite.

Hi Guys, The mirror spins freely, but I don't believe anything to be broken (after all it came loose all by itself). I had a look last night and have to admit, cannot see anything that even resembles a grub screw.

After a little more surfing I found a post that said that if the mirror in correclty alligned, the grub screw would be at the top.

If that is the case, then I am guessing the the 3mm allen key is going to need not only the short bit being cut shorter, but also the long bit bent so that it does not fowl the actual mirror. Is that correct?
