An interesting opportunity for someone maybe?

Looks in decent nick, though interior is not the best picutre!

Do you reckon its ready to go bang with its high mileage and fairly obvious rev happy life!?

Probably a bit steep on price at 62k and LHD, what are your plans for it ?

Notice it's got ASR (traction control ?) which is good in the wet.

I don't intend to track it (if I were interested, which is a big if!).

However, just spoke to the company selling. Person was rather abrassive and tried to tell me that this was a fair price for a car like this. I explained the obvious with him and disagreed. He didn't seem open to suggestion.

He also quizzed me on how I used my cars "is this going to be used as a proper car or a toy?". Question was fair enough and a welcome change from the bum-sniffing other dealers do, but combined with his general attitude I wasn't impressed.

I ended the coversation by saying that if I were to come and view it, I would expect there to be some movement in price. He said there would be none whatsoever and that he had had plenty of calls. Very terse, so wished him the very best of luck and might call in 3 months when its still on the forecourt. The car is worth £27 or thereabouts - what thoughts?

The warrantee is absolutely rubbish in my opinion. Gearbox and engine only, for three months.

So 30k for a tracked high mileage car with LAUNCH CONTROL!!!!

Go to Verdis and get a low mileage one with a 12 month warranty which has never seen a track for 35k.

Bet ya it dont go bang if its been looked after, these engines go on and on. I have never heard of a 355 engine blowing up due to high mileage, and i have been around 355s for a while. In fact even one of my mates who is a ferrari tec has never heard of one exploding only due to high milage. Its a old wife's tail fueled by people who don't know. An engine is an engine ....is an engine. My spider has high mileage and i rag that baby hard. And i don't think twice about ragging mine across Europe ( last month Lemans, last week Nurburgring). Provided you change the belts regularly and keep both engine and gearbox fresh, there will be no bang due to high mileage. Wear yes, like all other cars but no bang.

What your annual maintenance bill like mate? You sound like you use the car the way I would if I had one. PM me if something you wouldn't like to share openly.

Why on earth did you waste your time argueing with him? Were you expecting him to drop it by £10k aftera 5 minute chat? As above, get one from Verdis and let that one sit on the forecourt for months.

Better yet, buy one from Verdis and go and show the c0ck at the other place the invoice.

I very much like Vesuvius' thought process!

However, in reply to your query. Reacting to a statement such as "its extremely fairly priced" with facts is hardly arguing!

Not necessarily it isn't. The Silverstone Racing School had several of these cars, three of which were for sale at the Ferrari Racing Days a few weeks back. Since I don't know which car is in the ad. I can't tell if it is the car you mention or not.

All the race school will have been well maintained mechanically - a racing school could not afford not to.

As for the price, time will tell if it's priced too high or not.

There's another dealer, advertising in Octane, with one of these for sale - same money. I think they were called Runnymeade if that's of any interest to AD.
