HELP Rear spoiler stuck up!!!

My '89 964C2 has decided to not let the rear spoiler back down. All has been fine up until now. Any ideas of what the problem could be would be most welcome

Unhelpfully: give it a good slap and tell it to stop being such a toffy nose!

More helpful (hopefully): do you know anyone else with a 964? See if you can borrow their spoiler control unit for a quick run up the road, i believe it's a box under one of the seats. 5 minutes to swap over IIRC.

To be fair, if it was stuck down that would be more dangerous since a 911 is rather teardrop shaped... a bit like a wing...

First thing to check is the micro switches that tell the controller that the spoiler is up or down. They are inside the small plastic cover and often go out of adjustment. If the controller doesn't know the spoiler is up it won't attempt to put it down.

Thanks chaps, I drove it last night and the warning light flashed on then off a few times, and when I parked up the spoiler lowered, so it seems to be an intermitent fault.

Where is the small plastic cover you refer too.....? There is another 964 locally, I'll introduce myself and ask for a borrow
