Apart from Bruce1's at Markham Moor? silly

Over in the foodie forum there is a PH Unofficial Good Grub Guide Wiki thread here. Nottinghamshire is apparently sadly lacking in good restaurants according to this. Now cos I am generally an antisocial git I can only suggest one but as it has been a bit hit and miss lately (a quite embarrassing miss when we took a couple of out-of-towners there a few months ago grumpy) I don't really want to nominate it.

So any of you chaps got some recommendations for good grub in Notts? lick If so head over and stick the info in the Wiki thread!

Only place I can think of now is the Warsaw Diner on I think Derby Road. Its more of a Sunday breakfast/lunch sort of place than a posh evening out place, but damm good if you need to setle the stomach..

We tend to eat at Wagamama's quite a bit - but then we only tend to go into Nottingham to go to the cinema and it's right next door.

Delicious noodles though... yes

Bleu in Lacemarket is good for Sunday Lunch, also Dogma on Byard lane does really nice lunchtime food and the restaurant at night is really nice. Scruffy's in the Lacemarket is also good, down to earth rustic place. Loads of nice places to eat in Nottingham, this is just a few !

Brown's used to be good for Sunday breakfast but I hear it's become somewhat of a danger zone these days...

Also, a few years back, used to go to a solely vegetarian place just off Hockley called, I think, "That Cafe" or "The Cafe". Seriously awesome veggie food but I've long-since lapsed back to the dark side so haven't been for a while...

And who could forget our "very own" 4550 Miles From Delhi, very good Indian place on Maid Marian Way - shame on you, Midlanders. smile

There are absolutely tons of good restaurants/pubs who do excellent food in Notts. It's just a case of knowing where to go and what you're after. Shaws in Hockley/Harts in The Park/Colwick Hall/The Lambley at Lambley. I could go on and on. Depends what you're after but there are definately good places to eat, and I usually dine out with fussy buggers! All those mentioned by others above are pretty damn good too. Piccolina's in Nottingham is new and very good. Notts caters for all tastes and all different price brackets IMO.

Shaw's gets 10 out of 10 for worst service - ever!

Langar Hall does beautiful food in a charming country house setting. Service is second to none.

The Broadway does some superb food. Have really enjoyed lunch there recently.

Love Wagamama.

World Service is excellent.

Nandos is perfect if you want good, cheap, quality food in a relaxed setting. You'll need to like chicken though!

Anyone mentioned Harts yet? Been there a few times and found it pretty decent. Slightly pricey, but good service

I went there once and cannot remember what I had. And I wasn't drunk either. It is supposed to be one of the best restaurants in Nottingham. The hotel is rather nice.

It seems to change clientel depending on what time of day you go there. Late afternoon/early evening is the best time, later on is full of "I'm Sorry" diners. Either is quite entertaining and the foods not bad

I had my work's Christmas dinner/my leaving do there about six years ago, at lunch time. I'm sure it was lovely, it just never stuck in my mind as being fabulous.

It's the tit-fest that puts me off.
