I am sure it must have been mentioned before, but can someone tell me where I can buy 18 inch Spiders from?
And how much are they. Are there any preferred alternatives?
Thanks guys.

There are set of spiders in the classifieds, but its recommended that if you go this route, you get 4 Tuscan fronts, as these will not foul the rear arches. (offset different on front and rears) Also recommended that you fit some steering rack 'stops' which stop your front inside wheel catching the wishbone arms.

No real experience of alternatives, but defo some good looking wheels out there...

Have a look at the Silverstone Performance wheels. They are marketed as lighter than the OEM spiders, and are supposed to be specifically geared to the Cerb offsets, etc.

If you do a search, there have been a lot of threads on wheels, with most of the folks posting pictures of their alternatives...

Believe new Spiders retail around £260 each.

I am changing mine shortly, so will be selling my Spiders. If you'd like me to let you know when they are available, drop me an email smile. (Already have someone interested, so it will depend upon whether they still want them!) smile

When i moved from the original 16s to spiders i noticed a massive amount of tramlining! got used to it over time, but the car was better on the 16s. You do need to get four fronts if you buy the spiders, and then you have the tyre selection woes.... i went for F1s which are very good. You will also have to get the spacer put in to stop the fronts catching on the inside of you arches.

yikes Are they really quoting £260 per new spider now, They were always over priced and under specified before but thats silly money silly. I recall being informed not so long ago that the spiders were less than £80 trade, go figure confused.

They cost that to get them reconditioned and that's supplying the wheel as well.

SP's are the way forward matey. Considerably stronger than the Spiders and not a bad looker too....but still not quite as nice as the spiders. If money isn't too much of a concern to you then have a reproduction set of stronger Spiders made !

Spiders direct from the manufacturer are £40 each ! The same co make the SP wheels. You can buy the SP wheels direct from the manufacturers website except they havent got the writing machined off them like SP have done.

When I bought my spiders I bought them from ebay at an avg cost of £40 each plus I then went to px wheels and swapped them for a new set for £200. So I paid £360 for a set. Sold the 17s for a couple of hundred. Bobs your auntie.

£40 really? They were cheap, but not that cheap - but then they weren't/ aren't very good! Great value in the SH market though.
The Team Dynamics wheels are not available in the correct specification (i.e. like the SP12 wheels). We have the wheels specially manufactured (unique spec, lighter, writing removed, direct bore) and so have to order in volume and carry stock... with TVR centres too!
