Yes, I know you need a scooter and a parka jacket, but...

How do you?

Do you volunteer? 'Please Ted, please, I promise to be good and sort out those naughty people...'

Are you approached via your Oxbridge Don..? 'there may be some interesting work for a young man like you. Important work. A man called Ted will contact you.'

Does some Hand of God moment occur and voice booms 'You ARE the chosen one!'.

Or what?

I had voices in my head and saw a bright light which I took to be a message from God so decided to send Garlick an email.

This was asked in the last couple of months. I think the last recruitment drive was around 4 years ago.

Why on earth would you want to be a mod?

I think Ted asked for some about two years ago. He spreads the word, people step forward, the local freemasons set up the initiation ceremony, pies are ordered and the select few are ushered into the bretherin.

I well remember the last recruitment drive. Basically, they asked the following questions:

do you like cars?
No, do you really, really like cars?

If you got both questions right you would be considered...

I don't read every post. I probably read more than I used to, particularly if there is a controversial poster on it, but the abuse button is there for the members to help the mods if they see silliness going on.

Well, rugged good looks are a must.

Cutting edge style and glorious charisma are also an absolute must.

I think it must be to do with being a frustrated school milk monitor.

They can fail to check the posting guidelines before deleting one's thread... there can be a tendency to see us as 'naughty schoolchildren' and reveal a streak of superiority complex.
