noisy tappets

my chim as only covered 38000 miles but the tappets are very noisy ,does this mean i have to change the cam ,hydrolic lifters and all the other bits or is there a chance some thing else can be done .does any one have an idea of the cost thanks

If your followers are worn (at 38k they probably will be), you need to change the cam to. You'll be amazed how much it's worn if you change it. All in, you're looking a about 1200 from a garage, 600 for a cam, followers, springs and gaskets (if you upgrade) from V8 Developments. I can recommend the stealth cam, it's moderately uprated and fits nicely between the MC1 and H440.
