A record-breaking attempt made at Donington Park to stage the world's largest parade of Minis failed on sunday - by just two cars.
Organisers of the Dunlop Great and British Mini Festival invited Mini owners from all over Britain to take part in a convoy on the racetrack. The lead 2 MINIs (Latest Cooper S) were sponsored by CG-Lock!
The aim was to smash the currently American-held Guinness World Record of 273 vehicles.
But Sunday's attempt narrowly missed out - with a total of 271 Minis… if only we could have sponsored 2 more!!!

You should have been at Rockingham then where the TVR CC smashed Ferrari OC`s record of 273.

We recorded 551 TVR`s..............................................

What does it take get the Guinness people involved in something like that?
Had a quick look at the pics, were there no aerial pics taken??

I thought the record Dunlop were trying to break was "Number of MINIS on a race track" not for any car. I might be mistaken though.

Personally I'm not impressed. There are loads of bmw mini's about, can't be too hard to get enough (and not *that* great an achievement).

What next, WR for most ford focus's, most vx astras etc.?

Now having 273 PROPER Mini's, THAT would be impressive.

IT wasn't just new Minis though. There were plenty of classics taking part too.
