1958 250 Ferrari - Hill/Gendebien

I am currently doing some research and need a copy, if anyone has one, of a photo of this car. If anyone has one and would be kind enough to send it to me I would be eternally grateful. Here's hoping.

There is a slim possibilty that I may be able to sort something out for you. One of the directors where I work ( www.castlesportscars.co.uk )was a professional motorsport photographer around that time. I will ask him and see if he has anything.

Have you tried LAT?

They are part of Haymarket, it is the photo archive for Autocar, The Motor & Motorsport amongst others. (in fact in the same building as Pistonheads & myself!)

Basically if its been in any of those magazines they have the photo.

May be worth mentioning that you came from Pistonheads when you get in touch.

I got some fantastic prints done of old Austin TT cars done from glass plates a couple of months ago.

More shots of the restored car here including another of Phil Hill at the wheel.

I can't find any decent photos from the actual race, but a number of apparently accurate nodels of the car all show a single red-framed Brooklands shield inside the screen on the driver's side.

La fondation (présidée par son fils) met à disposition de ses membres toutes les archives d'Olivier Gendebien (photos, objets et anecdotes sur cette époque).
Nous numérisons petit à petit tous les documents afin de les rendre disponible pour nos membres soit:
-via ce site
-sur des CD rom en cours de réalisation
De plus Olivier a laissé des écrits où il raconte "de l'intérieur" des évènements qui ont marqués cette époque comme:
- L'accident du Mans 1955
- La mort de "de portago" et la fin des milles miglias
- Le commendatore Enzo Ferrari et ses pilotes
- ETC .....
Documents que nous mettrons à la disposition des membres
