Did read a lot about wheels on the forum, but would like to know the following:

Rear wheel

If you stick to the original wheeloffset and put 9,5J on it, will this cause problems with wheels coming out of the arches? If I look at my original 16" wheels and add 2 inches, it will come out I think. Ther are a lot of guys with 18" and 19" wheels on cerbs with experience.

SP 12 wheels look good also, but what is the offset of the rear 9J wheel??

Maybe considering Utlralite wheels with Y-spoke design (type Nurburgring. They are 8,5J and offset 36 for the fronts and 9,5J and offset 35 for the rear.

Experiences will be welcome guys!

I've just ordered some Ultralite WP 789's 9J rear 38 offset, 8J front 35 offset. Will be getting them in a couple of weeks, will let you know how I get on.

These wheels fit. Found pictures on the forum of a cerbie with the wheels on them. Consired these wheels too. Went to a dealer today to take a look at the wheels. He told me that 9,5J would take the wheel 2 inches out.

When I calculate (I may be doing it wrong) it only comes out 1 inch when fitting a 9,5J.

If you keep the same offset then the increase will be both 'in' and 'out' by half the overall increase in rim width i.e. if you increase the rim by 2" but keep the offset the same then it will grow 1" in and 1" out.

Check out this online calculator it helps http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

That's what I thought Harry. Did you also fit other wheels? You considered the utlralites with the RL7 look when I am right.

Is there anybody who fitted 9,5J offset 35, who had or not had problems with the width of the wheelarches?

Do the ultralites come with the right centre bore for the Cerb and how heavy are they?

19" is OK on mine, unless the car is very full + a full tank of fuel... but only then on tight (usually slow) turns.

However, when I bought the car it was on the original shocks and was pretty awful with 19"'s. Much better since GAZ shocks put on as ride hight and geometry has been adjusted to make it all fit together much better.

I hope this helps.

cheers
Graham

Nice wheels Graham.

These are Vortex R wheels which were high on my list. Found out that they are out of production. ACT has a Team Dynamics replacement and Wheelmania has the Vortex Revolution as a replacement.

I reckon front wheels are 8,5J. How is the ridequality with 19"?

Actually I'm still fiddling about with the tyre pressures, expecially on the front, but overall car sticks to the road like glue and in terms of ride quality I haven't been in another cerb so difficult to compare although it seems very accomplished for a sports car. I tend to avoid the big pot holes (to protect the rims)and everything else is OK. I'm relatively inexperienced at driving high powered cars so I don't push it as hard as some but even then I don't get any sense of reduced grip at any time. Actually I'm thinking of getting some training to see how much I can push the car before it bites back.
