hi guys got a few questions, after just fitting a replacement siren box cos its never worked since i bought the car just wondered when it actually should make any noise apart from the obvious reasons. should it make noise when arming? should it go off if i shake the car violently? because it dos,nt and if so can the sensitivity be adjusted. if i sit in the car and put alarm on and move around this triggers it, but if i leave boot slightly open then arm it and open the boot this has no effect either, just wondered if you chaps had any sort of routines for your alarm siren going off cheers

Sounds like it's working correctly to me.

Boot has a switch but I'm pretty certain it's only for the boot light. Bonnet doesn't have a switch at all. There doesn't appear to be a motion sensor, at least I haven't found one in the last 8 years. That just leaves the inside which is covered by ultrasonics from the rear mounted sensor. Opening a door or breaking the glass should trigger the alarm and that's about it.

You wont hear a "chirp" on arming or disarming.

I'm guessing that if you set the alarm with the boot open, the alarm will ignore/override the switch.

According to the manual, you've got ultrasonics, doors, boot/bonnet, panic facility...... but no shock sensors.

So kicking it like Paddy from "phoenix nights", shouldn't set it off, unless you kick the windows through, to set the ultrasonics off... I'm guessing you don't want to do that though smile

Holding your finger on the fob for four seconds, makes the hazards flash fast & disables the ultrasonics.

For panic situations hold the button down for six seconds, and the alarm sounds for 15 seconds.

I'm trying to think of a panic situation, where you could hold that button down for 6 seconds........ No, it's not coming to me smile

I know the immobiliser sets itself a few seconds after killing the engine, but does the alarm self-activate? I tend to leave the driver's window down in the garage (I'm a fat knacker and need the extra room to get in and out), and have long worried that the alarm may activate at night (although it hasn't in the 6 or 7 months I've owned it).
