WARANTY ADVICE

Just had my sag go in for a broken throttle cable and engine mounts. Despite buying the £1400 waranty covering wear and tear the dealer tells me that i am not covered. My car is just over a year old and don't know where this you are covered / not covered will stop . Advice please ??

Carl - on the engine mounts specifically, I think this is a surprising exclusion from the warranty. I discussed this with Racing Green who were going to highlight it to AutoProtect, but not sure if anything came of it. Very strange exclusion indeed, and I share your frustration. Have just purchased a 2 yr option myself and will be very peturbed if there are lots of exemptions given how limited the warranty paperwork is to start with.

If things are actually listed as excluded in the docs then there is not much you can do. However, one dealer told me I had to pay for some rear bushes last year - £300 odd. Another did them under warranty without any quibble. I had just a passenger door sensor switch thingy replaced under warranty. No quibble. So they do pay out for odd things.

Would be interesting to know offline if the info you have is just from one dealer and which dealer it is. Since you're in/near London it could be the same dealer I had an experience with last year. PM me.

(I am assuming you have the wear and tear option on this warranty btw).

Its an autoprotect with full wear and tear !! - sold to me by the garage
