Hello all, have been reading about and drooling over this car for a while now.

Was just wondering what happens to the car once the hacks have had their fun with it?

Now I know Lambo UK will be keeping a close eye on it and replacing anything thats needs taking care of, but it seems to me that this car (and other press cars) take a huge pasting in a very short while at the start of their lifes..I have red Chris Harris will be taking it to a 1/4 mile shoot out!!

Would any of you in the position consider buying an ex press demo??

Its a 3/4 mile race, so there is no need to abuse the car as such. I'm sure Chris Harris will treat the car with the respect it deserves.

Its a good question though, as to what happens to the demonstrator hacks after they get 'tested'??

Well normally they are returned to the factory to have their engines detuned
to retail spec and then sold.

The Zonda that Harry Metcalfe on Evo has was a demo car when new.

True, but I drove the press cars and they do indeed go back to the factory after 6 to 12 months. After that they are usually offered to dealers, - the Orange Murcielago which was on 5th Gear with VBH's Mum driving it (also with the YEV1L) no ended up with a private owner. I assume the Italian reg cars get officially reimported after returning to the factory too.

I think they are normally offered to dealers - that's certainly what Porsche do, they specify on their website under car spec that it is an ex press car...

I have a theory that Lambo UK leave the Italian plates on their UK spec RHD demo's, so that when they want to release them for sale they get them UK registered and no one will recognise the car with its new 'identity' - after all, who in their right mind would buy a Lambo that has been thrashed to death by every journo in the UK?!
