Looking into having the above done to increase the noise and pops/bangs really.

Ive read up on whats involved etc, but have yet to hear from anyone who has actually done it...

So have you (or do you know of anyone who has) 'sleeved' your Sagaris exhaust?

Id love to hear your opinions and experiences with it...

Thanks
Lee

A big noise is great UNLESS you plan on doing track days. My Sag only just passed the noise limit test at a recent day limited to 98 db and my exhaust is standard.

The only sound absorbsion in a saggy exhaust is in the last 2", so I doubt it would make little if any difference.
99% of it is the centre box the exhausts bolt to.

but by sleeving the exhaust the perferated inner tube inside the silencers is replaced with a tube without any holes... from looking in the silencer they seem to run the whole length of the silencer???

Why do people 'sleeve' their exhausts if there is minimal noise gains to be had?

Thanks

Pops and bang with a decat (it's easily reversed). Same applies if you intend to track.

DJC who posts/posted? on here sold a very good decat pipe set.

works on Tuscans as they have perforations the whole length of the can but saggys dont.

Oh I see.... hence it being only the last the last 2" of the pipe, ill get my torch out tonight and have a proper look.

So sleeving a sagaris is pretty pointless then I guess? Looks like the only way to achieve a bit more noise is to try some after market end cans. (see my thread in the main TVR forum)

Question now is... would an end can for a Tuscan fit on a Sagaris? and more importantly, would it be ok?

Try taking the cans off completely and see what it sounds like;
its only a 10mm ring spanner to undo the clamps to pull them off.20 mins job
Standrad sag runs at 99-100dB (A) so just gets by on most track days.

I cant imagine that will do the car any good, taking them off completely will effect the back pressure to the engine and make it feel lumpy?

I imagine that it would be loud to say the least though...

Have you tried it on your sag?

What exhaust do you have? Standard?

I replaced my Sagaris cans with a set of the Carbon Can Company ones and the noise increase was minimal. As previously mentioned most of the Sag silencing is done further down the exhaust.

I then had the cats removed and WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Never looked back.

Highly recommended if sound is what you want. Also nice little flames firing out at pedestrians on the over run. Watch them burn baby.

Got a Tam with no cats and TVR Power sports rear cans (very small).

Sounds like a machine gun on the over-run.

Defo remove cats.

standard sagaris cans are sleeved anyway
thats why it pops and bangs as it does
my dad's sag has no backbox just the replacement pipes so the only silencing is the cats
here is a vid of it on the rolling road but it is way louder in real life
and pops and bangs most the time on the overrun but if you want loudness and one off well these are the pipes for you biggrin

Your misunderstanding is slightly wonky.

I have a set of tuscan cans in carbon, which i am going to sleave and put on the saggy. I was told that the official factory sports exhaust mod for the tuscan was to insert a close fit tube into the existing can and secure with a self tapper?????? I would prefer welding personally. Any way the sleave actually reduces the bore of the can slightly and hence increases the velocity of the gas escaping through exhaust, also makes slighlty louder sound.

I cant be bothered going through all the stuff about there being no such thing as a "standard" Sagaris exhaust system again, so we will settle for just pointing out the specs on the Tuscan and Sagaris exhaust systems are different. You will need the S spec on the Tuscan to match the Sagaris.
In theory.
If TVR slid the car then the theory is out of the window and yer in pot luck land.
There's other stuff aswell that has all been documented on the forum over the last cpl of yrs.

Hilti, when are you putting them on?

Any chance we could meet up so I could have a listen once you've done it?

Cheers

Anyone know the before and after dB (A) sound levels on a Sagaris:-

My set up 'standard' with 2.25" NB main pipes = 99-100dB(A)

As above with de-cat = ???

Tuscan cans vs Sagaris cans =???
