My self and a large bunch of friends (and some people from the VX220 the owners club) periodically hire Donnigton for the a track evening (this is our 5th time) we then just divide the cost by the number of people going so there’s no profit being made and its ridiculously cheap £71!! for everyone.

This time we have a few places available so if anyone’s interested then let me know and will supply more details

Its all professionally run by Donnigton park (trackzone) and we operate an Open pit lane policy so you get stacks of time on the track.

We encourage a very wide variety of cars and abilities (lots of newbies) this isn’t a hard core speed maniac session just a friendly chilled one where everyone has a great time and its ideal for the more inexperienced new comer or chilled out seasoned T-dayer.

Sign on will be 4:30 for a 5pm start, and will be running a 98db noise limit, and a max of about 60 cars.

Thanks for the details Mark.

Just one more thing, what's the score with an additional driver or passemger in the same car? I can't see an option for adding them on the website.

Hi,

Just booked my place on this, if it's the same as last year passengers and spectators are free but they need to go to the breifing and get a wrist band.

Looking forward to this now, just got to sort out a towing eye for the front of the car.

How did you guys get on yesterday? Was quite a wide range of machinery I thought, the speed difference of the Radicals when they were approaching was almost scary, they must have been doing 3 laps for every 2 I did. Was also a wide range of driving standards, some guys seemed very impatient and getting all over my back bumper at times. If I'd have spun on those occasions then we'd have both been fooked, so I end up easing off a touch to make 100% sure we didn't collide - "yes I know you're there but I'm not going to compromise my line through the craner curves, just bear with me for a few seconds and I'll pull over ASAP"

Hi,

I think overall it was a good evening, apart from the odd person not getting the fact there was a mixed bag, and it wasn't a race day (were you refering to race prepped BMW's, i know they came close to being kicked off), i hope they did not spoilt the evening for you.

No red flags, and no pit lane queues can only be a good thing.

I'll stick some pictures and videos up next week.

Hi Mark hope you had a good evening too - was that you in the silver CTR that spun up by Mcleans? Yeah those pesky E30's were dam quick and seemed a lot more used to driving in anger at close proximity than me!

It was a top night, shame about my gearbox, expired quite early on, never mind....
Thanks again to all those involved in the organising, excellant value for money.

yes - it was a great eve (i was there in the blue m3 evo cab - i was the really slow person!) i had turned up a bit earlier and saw the carnage of the circit days organisation beforehand - would never use them having seen that and i challenge any of the organisers to come on here and explain what happened.

mark - if you want to organise one of those days again, stick it up here early enough and i'm sure you will get a lot of p/headers.

even though there must have been 50+ cars it was run as an open pit lane with the organisers sensibly suggesting everyone does no more than about 10 laps at a time and then coming in. this gives you and the car a natural rest before going out. it worked really well and i got loads of track time. for £70 it was a bargain.

ususal few idiots crawling all over your @ss despite being told there was "no overtaking in the craner curves", but otherwise a great day......

I'd love to join in if there's another event.

How long until PH-on-track.com appears running a similar setup as lotus / honda on track smile

Agreed; it was a really good night; not a queue in sight & I ended up taking 8 passengers out (work colleagues who had never been to a trackday before).

Standard of driving was prety good I thought, although the E30's were somewhat impatient & some numpty in a Clio 197 tried to overtake me on the right at the Old Hairpin! They even kept the track open til 7.55 & it was pretty dark by then.

Mark.

I was in the Rover, which, to my amazement, lasted the evening.

We haven't decided if we are running an event next year, but with all the positive feedback i will certainly let you know about it if we do.

There should be some good pics and videos from the evening, i'll get them posted on the website in the next couple of weeks.

The green 600? I spun whilst following you after you went VERY wide at the exit of Mcleans, I was trying to take evasive action and over reacted on the brakes - whoops!

I got there late and only managed to get out at 7pm in the Gulf coloured E30 Tourer. I thought the standards were pretty good although one of our E30 guys in the no.7 car was rightly black flagged for treating the session as a race.

I was impressed they ran the session until 7.55pm but I'll be back again as it was decent track time for only £71.

eerrrr yeah sorry about that, i did go a little wide there, i think it was the presence of a passenger got me a bit brave for my own good, although i did a fine job of keeping the car in a straight line through the gravel, which i think is still dropping out of my car, i do remember seeing a porsche spinning off behind me when i looked in the rear view.
