Its been pretty quiet on this forum about this round, considering its closeness! But I'll be there and I'm really looking forward to it, especially the Viper contingent. Things seem to have taken a real upturn for them, particularly after Brands and the RPM Double. Alex and Bradley showed some fantastic consistant driving and netted them a well earned result. The Nigel Greensall and Ricky Cole pairing in the Team Trimite viper (respendant in its new black livery) should also be a force to contend with. And finally, an encouraging weekend for Moore Racing with Neil Cunningham partnering Mike Gardiner whilst Paul Fenton jaunts down to Brands to try to claim Championship victory for the team in Britsports. Interestingly, when testing at Donington, Neil was lapping a good second faster than all the other viper pilots!
Then theres the giant killers driving the giant itself, with Barrie Whight and Gavan Kershaw ensconced in the Cadena Motorsport Aston Martin. This long time pairing could well cause a major upset in the yellow beast. I'm sure we all remember how well they did after borrowing the Trackspeed porsche at Oulton park, having never driven one before. These guys deserve a break after the season they've had.

Someone somewhere said it might rain this sunday. Well they promised it last year for this event (came close, we got saturated at Watford services on the M1 on the way down) but I came away with a suntan, so lets hope for more of the same! If you see a big chap ( 6'4" ) wearing glasses and wandering around the paddock area in a wheelchair with a 10 year-old whippet of a son jumping on every driver he can find for their autographs (sometimes more than once), then feel free to say 'Hi'!

Finally I can watch a race live instead of on the tv.
I have not seen the cars since the May practice at Silverstone.

I will be there on Sunday, unless I can sneak a visit on Saturday too.

There are usually some of the support races on Saturday. This year at Oulton Park they split it so that all the caterham events were on the Saturday and the Formula Ford were on the sunday.

There's suprisingly little information on this event. I expected to find some here seeing at how Pistonheads is the media partner but there has been very little coverage of the BGT at all. frown

Grrr, that really annoys me. I love the Caterhams and Heritage but once more we are denied because of only able to make one day! Instead we have to put up with plastic rockets! (no offence meant to the drivers or teams of the F-Ford's or F-3's - just personal preference :P)

Edit: At least we have one Caterham race on Sunday.

Don't understand this comment Dragaan as Pistonheads have run three stories this week on the Silvertsone round of British GT -

Thanks Jeff. I'm used to seeing those sort of things in this forum section (they have been every race so far). Thats why I made the comment that I did.

It just took some doing but now I know where to wade through to find such gems thanks to your links biggrin

Hey Trackide, looking forward to meeting you and Mrs Trackside tomorrow! Good reports on the vipers though. Moore racing have really picked up the pace with Neil Cunningham in the co-pilot seat. Heres to Paul Fenton down at Brands Hatch securing the Britsports championship for them too!

Well after managing to blag a couple of hospitality tickets for the Sunday - found it an entertaining day - the hidden bonus for me was the VW Cup - watching TDi Vans up against GTi's and R32's smile

But now want a dodge viper so best start saving!!
