Just a few q's for your collective perusal:
1) How much lighter is a lightweight... does it make a discernable handling or performance diff?
2) Is a 4.5 any more/less reliable than the other variants?
3) What does a 'red rose' comprise of, and what are the stats?
4) Which colour is fastest?
5) As a complete technophobe, non mechanic, is a cerb 4.5 right for me?
Thanks

1) About 40kgs IIRC. Pointless in my case!
2) 4.5 is thought to be generally the most reliable (some 4.2s had sumps made from clay or some such
)
3) No idea but 'supposed' to be approx 20-40bhp more than a non RR
4) Yellow, obviously
5) Ive got one and they dont come more of a mechanical numpty than I. Does mean even the easist of repairs needs to go to an indie/garage. although I did manage to change the battery recently

1) According to the book, the old 4.2 is 1100kg, the 4.5LW is 1150KG. Haven't weighed them together yet, but I reckon the old one's a lot more than 50kg lighter.
2) After 50K & ten years, expect an engine rebuild, two clutches and a new chassis
3)
4) Blue
5) I know FA about fixing Cerberas, but I've got paying somebody else large amounts of money to fix them, down to a fine art.

You'll be entering my club soon.
In a Mazda RX8 stylee, I'm putting a 1/4 litre of oil in with every tank of petrol.
I keep wanting to get it rebuilt, but it just seems to get looser & faster every week. It's suddenly got Banzai revs, like on a motorbike

Strangely, I know it's the beginning of the end

Essentially it's a dash mounted switch that allows the car to run on 95 or 97+ Ron fuel, with different maps to suit. The car should produce 440bhp on the 97+ setting. As far as I know, there were no official stats for it, so expect 0-60 in 3.8? 0-100 8.5? (both slightly faster than the 4.5)
Not sure if there were any chassis mods over the 4.5LW though ?

2) 4.2 runs pretty much to spec ex factory, 4.5 enjoys a good fingering (don't we all?). Speed Six is the nuts... and bolts in a sack of spanners, but I love it.
3)Red Petals
4)Antigua Blue, but must have cream leather and seatbelt shoulder pads with logos!
5)Although the S6 is the wild card of the bunch, it can be the easiest to work on. Single head obviously, but with exhaust manifold on one side only you can get to coil pack, starter, alternator, 'Big Fuse' without the need of jello-arms.
Lightweights are easy 5k more expensive over regular Cerbs . . . Why: bollox money to pay for only 50kgs less plastic . . .
You gotta have the V8 for sound . . . IMO 4.2's sound better, but then I haven't heard 'em all.
Speed 6 Cerbs are a different posse right?
Compared to an S6 Tusc or even a Griff
they are bargains though.

Or is the a pattern emerging here ?

2. Nope - depends entirely on how it's been cared for, how it's used & luck
3. Aren't these the ones that actually come close to the factory claimed figures for a 4.5

4. Red (but we keep quiet and let the blue ones think they are)
5. Depends on the size of your wallet

A standard 4.5 0-100 in 8.1 seconds - honest, page 62 of the owners handbook. So a red rose must do the 0-100 in under 8 seconds!
Edited to say - Blue ones are the fastest!

Your a mind reader TC.
Purple's got to go back to have some bits done, then she's getting advertised.
Well it was the fact that you never replaced the pic in your profile what done it..Purple's got to go back to have some bits done, then she's getting advertised.
I know someone who keeps whistling about joining the club, might point him in your direction.
Once it's had the extra bits done, I'll stick it in at £19k.
Bluey's getting advertised at £10k aswell, and I'll keep the one that doesn't sell.
With the oil useage, I've a feeling I'll struggle to find takers for Bluey.
I'm off now, to wash the car, and we're down to the Holliday Inn for some well earned beers.
See ya tomorrow

Do you know anybody who's selling any ?

Kidding aside, if I end up with the Blue one, I'd have them off you, I doubt you'll still have them though.
My 18's have got the TVR logo in the middle, but I've seen other one's with a dark yellow plain logo on them.
Have they lost them, or is there a different type of wheel ?
