Hi All!

I've finally joined the Elite team of drivers who can proudly claim they drive Monaros!

Finally got the chance to be able to afford and run one, so took the chance and I'm now the proud owner of a Phantom Black '04 CV8 :-)

Might only be for a year, but it's a great car, and I can now proclaim that I did it! Bit of a change from my Zetec S TDCi Mondeo, but my fiance's happy as she inherited that. Slightly galled that she now rubs it in that she gets 40+ MPG (instead of my current 17!), but mine sounds soooooooooo much better!

Some of the info on here is very interesting and helpful, so keep up the good work!

Cheers,

Andrew.

Welcome to the fold.

Why are you only keeping it for a year?

Well done.

It'll sound so much better than the soot chucker. Still haven't used the radio in mine :-)

It might only be a year, because I'm getting married next year, and this is my final fling before I have to be Captain Sensible again!

I used to race stockcars (well, baby ones called Rebels, hance my username), but gave it up as the amount of time I spent working on it wasn't fair on my fiance.

So, Liz agreed to my Monaro ownership, but we've capped it at one year - for the time being!

It's nice to find so many well-informed and like-minded people on this forum.

Oh, and yes it does sound better, goes better, and sucks fuel a lot quicker too :-)

By the way, I'm in Hinckley, Leicestershire if anyone sees me around. Saw a red VXR last Sunday on the A5, and there's another black one knocking around. Anyone from here?

You know, even though I have a VXR I still fancy an '04 CV8. It's just more of a sleeper (and arguably prettier too). Nice choice!

I went down the path that having previously looked at two seaters a Monaro (having four seats) was a very sensible option. Not sure she believed me, but bought one anyway biggrin

Mines got a child seat in the back and the 3 year old loves it (then again he thinks our Picasso is a fast car so perhaps not the best judge).
