Just read that TVR penalties will be as Sebring
www.maisonblanche.co.uk/n030605a.html

Does that mean the T440R will be handicapped with a weight increase as at Sebring?

Hope not.
Then again maybe the extra weight is just a pack of Kronenburg 1664 like the rest of us!

Just read the same thing, the phrase used is a bit woolly:

"On the subject of TVR, Saleen & Spyker, the penalties should be as at Sebring. There will an inspection this week just in case ... "

I assume it refers to the weight penalty and air intake restrictions. If so this is a tragedy, the TVR's should be in contention for a class win without the penalties.

Didn't TVR have to have x number of cars built to avoid the penalties? something like 20 T440R's if TVR are able to meet this then maybe they can have the restrictor plate removed?... would be good to see the car given a run whilst not being gagged !!

Think the car is restricted. Michael Caine mentioned as much at Back Home this year. Since we saw the first T440R in build when we were their, it'll be a little while before the restriction is lifted I suspect.

It relkates directly to the number of cars built - and more particularly to the number of road cars built - Thats why the Saleens were strangled at LM last year.

I think it's 10 road cars per race car, that's why they need to build 20 road cars to avoid any restrictions. The restrictions during LM PQ were tighter than at Sebring because at PQ they turned up with two race cars instead of one at Sebring. So, the rate "road cars vs. race cars" was less than at Sebring. Confused ? Anyway, it looks like they didn't manage to build the full 20 road cars and still face restrictions, even if they are not as tight as during PQ.

shame its not based more closely on a t350 or normal tuscan, then they would be able to sidestep the regs like Porsche or Ferrari do.
