You might like to check with VOSA, but as far as I know commercial vehicles don't have to comply with the normal emissions standards required by an ESVA.

The Hsv Maloo's that have been imported have not required Euro 4 compliance. Once one has been imported and then it is fairly easy to import another. Walkinshaw imported some so they may be your best shot at getting the info. Neither Monaro or VXR8 are Euro 4 compliant and they get imported directly by GM.

FAO hcch re: Maloos
Had any thoughts about where to get one down under?
Try carpoint.com.au and carsales.com.au

I'd imagine your only real problem will be the passby noise test. You might want to check what the requirement is for this before you buy one.

Did you make any progress with this?

I'm very interested in buying a VE Maloo. Unless I can find an importer (Vauxhall?) I'll need to do it personally, and so anything you've found out would be really useful to hear about.

The EU recognises a number of ADR standards. If you get the ADR approval number on the car you can get the list of ADR standards met, which might help when bringing it in to show it complies with a number of standards and save you having to get the whole car tested from top to bottom. There was a recent discussion which said exhaust noise was a concern, but emissions should be ok.

Picador in southampton had an 05 Maloo R8 in stock a couple of months back, doubt they still have it (£19995 bargain!) they may well have some others, or may be able to help you out.

I'm only really interested in the new VE model, seems like a significant step forward in terms of technology and style.

Were all the previous ones imported personally?

HCCH, if you want a VE Maloo, email us off line and we may be able to help. We imported four VZ Maloos last year and just completed a VE GTS. I should alert you that all HSV Maloo production is pre-allocated up to April next year.
Phil.

Hi WPUK, did you get a model approval report?
I understand these make it easy to import subsequent items of the same configuration.

No, I didn't get a model report for the GTS because it was extra cost, plus a few other specific reasons. We plan to do a model report next time.
Phil.

I'm thinking along the same lines at the moment so would be interested to hear if any pop up or you can find someone to import for ya. Loved them out in NZ smile
