Looking at getting different wheels on my Tamora, and have the option of sticking with 235s on the back or going up to 265 x 30s.

Any comments, thoughts, experiences?

Do you break traction that often? I don't.

So purely cosmetic then? And would there be a negaitive effect under bad weather conditions?

I'm no racer, but I guess you'll get a bit more rubber on the road. You may also get some on the wheelarches - seems to be a lucky dip whether there will be enough clearance.

Logic dictates that aquaplaning and driving in snow will be worse with the same vehicle weight and tyres/pressures. Probably only a smidgen though.

Thanks for that Mike!

They do look good but sadly they keep bl00dy bending! Every time I go out I cringe at the slightest surface imperfection as they really are soft.

If someone made them out of sturdier stuff I wouldn't even consider it.

Do the anthracite wheels really bend that much?
Im looking at a t350c with anthracite wheels - makes the car look fantastic but should I avoid them and stick with silver??

Er, they are the same wheel with different coloured paint. For what its worth I've only managed to very slightly buckle one wheel since I got my car. That was a probably a nasty pothole. Showed up on the balancing machine but the steering is still spot on.

Yes, they may not be as robust as some wheels, but they're not made from putty either.

Mine keep getting damaged because I use the car so much, and on all sorts of roads.

Bloody sat nav took me down a muddy dirt track on Friday and I collected half of West Sussex under the car!

London roads seem to be the worst; more pot holes than road, reminds me of Lagos in places!

I think that I'm going to stick with the spiders after all, as they really do look good. And IMHO anthracites look fab on darker coloured cars, but for lighter ones I'd stick to silver or the nice smokey chrome jobbies that Racing Green do.

No no no Gentlemen. It MUST be prefixed IMHO, else you appear aggressive stating your opinions as facts.

You'll end up with a colour turf war.

IMHO...... wink

What colour of silver is that? it looks really good!!! i have spectraflair silver, rather than pay £3k for a respray (when it needs done) i'd rather spend half and try a slightly different colour but there are so many different colours that look great on these cars its hard to decide!

tyre wise - 255's are the way forward

I have 19" wheels on my T350 with 35x265 on the rear and 35x245 on the front with no rub. Well the only time they rub is if you brake quite on full lock which I know is a no no but I was just checking if they would rub .

Martin,
Dont you find it a little over geared with that rolling radius??
