Oil pressure gauge in Griff..
Discussion
My oil pressure gauge seems to be giving some irregular readings.. it's flicking from quite happy at 30-35psi and then decides to drop to 15psi and sometimes below ... but I've checked the oil levels and it's fine.. I'm starting to wonder whether this is normal but having had the car 3 months I'm pretty sure it kept a steady 30psi initially..
has any one come across this before or got any ideas??
Cheers

Its quite often nothing more than a bad connection to the sender. The sender sticks directly down under the engine and the connection is a rather poor spade terminal. Cleaning and squashing the spade together carefully with pliers often works or if you want to do a proper job, replace the spade with a decent new one.
If this cheap and quick repair doesnt cure the problem, then it is almost certainly a faulty sender. Again, a fairly straightforward screw out and screw in replacement job.
