So, the 600RR needs her 4000 service. What actually needs to be done? If it's oil and filter plus a check around the brakes & suspension I reckon I can do it myself and save the £150+

I've lost faith in my local dealers ability to (a) look after my bike, and (b) do a good job...

What do you think?

You forgot (c)Over charging.

Just had my 4k service at a Honda dealer £88.

Although I plan to change the oil/Filter every year myself I will still take the bike to a Honda dealer every 4k for the little bits beyond my mechanical skills and for that little stamp in the service book that everyone seems to prize so highly. rolleyes

Surely your warranty will be invalid if you do it yourself!

It'll sell easier with a dealer service history as yours is fairly new.
