Where are the air con pipes for re-charging the system?

I thought it might be a bit too much to ask for the pipes to be accessible via the service bonnet.

A chap local to me (Welwyn) offers air con replacement for 50 quid - that's the cheapest I've found advertised anywhere. Amazing piece of kit - plug in the make/model of car and press a button: it then goes through four cycles: sucks out the old stuff, pressure tests the system, lubricates it to prevent corrosion and fills it up. I took my bee em down there but when I returned with the Tuscan, there was much headscratching and neither of us had a clue how to remove the main bonnet, not that either of us were that keen! Perhaps a kind PH'r could let me know how that is done as well.

To open the bonnet you'll need to remove 4 bolts at the front of the bonnet (2 on each side of the bonnet) you will see them when you flip open the service panel. There are 2 grab catches at the top of bonnet and to get to them reach under the heat vent just in front of the windscreen, just lift the catch and lift the bonnet slowly.

The aircon pipes are on the N/S of engine bay just above the wheel arch.

thanks - any idea whether the bolts are tightened to a particular torque setting?

No as far as I know there's not torque setting for the bolts, just tight enough so it don't work loose.

Does anyone know anywhere good/reasonable for regassing in Central/SE London?

I'll post the details of the place in Welwyn Garden City that does it tomorrow. He was cheapest by a long way and you will understand why when you see his £5k regassing machine sitting in his £2.99 shed. Nice bloke though.
