They are off to Ireland for the summer and were getting all twisted about coping with printed instructions off AA dn RAC. Mum is the only driver and Dad struggles to read in the car. So, obvious question, anyone got any suggestions for a Tom Tom style Sat Nav for them that we (Bro and I) can pre store their favourite destinations into and failry idiot and bullet proof for them to use?

They dont do many miles to be honest so doesnt need to be top/high end. They really are a bit techno averse so ease of use and big clear screen/graphics is a must really.

My dad has a TOMTOM...and he manages to work it so it must be pretty fool prooof. He has all the addresses he normally wants programmed in his favourites and uses it mostly that way. Works a treat with a simple user interface.

maybe you should get them down to Halfords etc so they can try one out... see what they like best.

Sounds like a good swap.

Sorry - I couldn't resist.

The Navman F series is by far the simplest sat nav around, although still powerful and great visual mapping too and good build quality

That would be a "parent buy" for me!

If you are going to Ireland you need Navteq (Garmin) maps as they have better coverage than teleatlas (TomTom, Navman). Think teleatlas only have about 50% over there.
