1. Whats the opinion of installing a rear anti-roll bar?
2. Anyone tried a toothed belt set up for Alternator, water pump etc?
3. T-5 gear linkage - how have you got around the "bentstick"?

Hello again,

re: the Rear Anti-Roll bar, I wouldn't bother, its a load of shag and hassle and you are likely to end up with a car thats too stiff at the rear and liable to oversteer at every opportunity (not good with a turbo)

I would thouroughly recommend Adrian Venn's Leda setup, with my trick Taimar its was magic. Adrian also cornerweighted the car (very worthwhile). Once it was cornerweighted it had pinsharp handling (for an M!!)

Now I was running 15x7 (205/55) front and 15x9 (225/50) rears, but the car would go through the Cramer Curves at Donington at over 100mph (genuine not speedo!!).

On that basis I don't recon you need an anti-roll bar.

PS But I reckon you'll put one on anyway as you like engineering solutions!!!

Thx david - the leda's i have. And i shall take on board your comments regarding the a/roll bar - no point if its going to oversteer. Perhaps when the car is driven again i will get it weighted. Thx for the advice.

Mark, my 3500M (Rover V8) has an Adrian Vienn rear anti-roll bar, together with an uprated front anti-roll bar, they work well together.

Next time you are up in the North (& back in the UK of course) you will have to come for a little spin and see what you think.

mark,
by bent stick i assume you mean the problem of the shift linkage on the typical t5 being at the rear of the tail shaft housing. Modern Driveline of california offer what they call a front shift conversion for the t5. this entails swapping the tailshaft housing for one with the linkage at the front of the housing, moving the linkage forward about 8 inches.
