Spotted my 2nd Cayenne, still uggg-er-leee
Discussion
Am I a bit emporahs new clothes with these? as I know lots of you guys like em, but I really feel the Cayenne is posibly the most unattractive and ugly vehicle on the roads, in fact I am struggling to think of a more unattractive vehicle, I almost prefer the looks of the bug eyed Fiat Multipla!!
Yes I know it goes like a rocket & will out handle many a sportscar from other manufacturers and will have all the engineering and know how built into it as Porsche do best, but man will I ever get my head round the looks??

I think it looks better to the eye of the beholder if you are considering an estate car or 4x4 in the first place.
We are looking for an estate as a 2nd car but, the though, hmmmm could the cayenne do the job, yes, and its a porker.Yes makes it more attractive to us.
If you are only looking for a sports car then the cayenne wont appeal, but if you need a load carrier then it does.

Don't know what you're talking about, I like it.
The cheaper models actually look better, because of the dark paint below the sill line. Sadly the Turbo does not have this, making it a bit lardy arsed.
Saw plenty in Florida, certainly the hard working Floridian's SUV weapon of choice right now.

LOL
Awww, thanks for your concern, Dom. I'm touched.
Hey, EVO lapped Bedford as fast as an M3 in one - QED. And for bangs for your buck, not much comes close (unless you want some rebadged VW clone).
The front is a bit of an erm, acquired taste, shall we say. But when you're inside the thing, who cares?

Your right it is a bit of an ugly mobile!
But it didn't stop me buying one, should have it for my trade stand at Piston Fest so come have a look and we'l all say UUGLEEEEE EEEEW together
LOL
These days the spec costs more than the car
They handle like a dream though, best SUV ive ever driven. Can't wait until the turbo arrives! should be entertaining.

Thing is look at the price of the thing in comparison to a 996TT....For build costs Porsche share 996 parts for the Bosxst where possible. The running gear has been around for years so was mostly paid for.
The development costs of K-N at the moment must be huge, different body, suspension type not to mention the V8 Turbo engine.Hopefully this will go into more interesting cars in the future.
Taking this into account the K-N looks a bargain...or are Porsche overcharging for the 996TT,just because it can take on and win against rivals at £150k plus.

I saw a trailer load of Porsche's on the M25 the other day on their way to get delivered. All the Cayennes (but none of the other cars) were zipped into big white bags. Could this be in case they cause an accident as other drivers all reach for their sick bags?

One came up behind me on the way home last night, so I slowed down a bit and pulled over to let it past and have a look. My first one! And there probably won't be many more since they cost around €166,000 here (or around £115,000 of your UK pounds)
It was black, and looked like a beached whale
Odd from the front, side and back, and accompanied by much tyre noise through my open window...
I'd still have one though

I'd still have one though

You're probably spot on with respect to Audi blandness. Though I've never driven an RS6 (out of my price range) I did nearly buy a used RS4 recently. While hugely capable it left me a bit unexcited ultimately. I decided to get a used V8 Grand Cherokee for my load/dog hauler (quite good fun in a crude sort of way) and save the balance for upgrading my 930 to a 993TT at some (hopefully not to distant) point.
While I've quite enjoyed slagging off the Cayenne's looks you've got to respect 444bhp and lap times to match an M3! I'm sure you'll have a ball and hopefully share on here what it's like. When do you take delivery?
And anyway, maybe you'll have the last laugh with respect to the looks, after all everyone hated the latest 7 series when it first came out and it's starting to grow on me now (surely I'm not the only one?)

Melv, if the mud's at the top of the arches and your still moving forward you have my respect. Thats not quite my scene, if it was I'd buy a Unimog, but reasonable ground clearance, towing & load carrying do figure. If its the Audi parts bin I guess thats ok - didn't do Bentley to much harm this weekend! All credit to the GT3 guys but where were the front running Porsches.
Chris,
October - I can live with the looks from the inside anyway!
