Hector Lester and Tim Mullen scored their second victory of the 2007 season at Silverstone on Sunday. They finished well ahead of the VRS Motor Finance Ferrari of Adam Wilcox and Phil Burton and the Aston Martin DBRS9 of Paul Drayson and Jonny Cocker.

The Team Trimite Brookspeed Viper of Nigel Greensall was noted for making an impressive start from 19th place, scything through the field to be sixth by lap 11 behind the Damax Ascari of Oliver Bryant. As the two cars entered Copse nose to tail, the Viper ended up getting the better exit. Bradley Ellis also made a sensational start with Team RPM Viper, up to 5th

The first retirement of the day came at Becketts when the Damax Ascari of Stephen Keating pulled off having lost all drive.

As the running order became clearer after the pitstops, it was Phiroze Bilimoria in the Team RPM Viper leading from Matt Owen in the Lamborghini with Adam Wilcox in the Ferrari.

However, sixth placed Tim Mullen in the CiM Ferrari was the fastest man on the track and making rapid progress through the field. The team had made a good pitstop and brother David had performed a great recovery drive after suffering a stop go penalty.

Wilcox and Mullen were quickly leading the pack. Mullen started to take huge chunks out of Wilcox’s lead, and by lap 72 the two Ferrari’s were nose to tail. One lap later, the red Ferrari of Mullen was through and surged on until the finish.

The Damax Ascari of Oliver Bryant and Phil Keen finished seventh.

Bradley Ellis and Alex Mortimer of Team RPM Viper now head to Round Nine of the British GT Championships at Thruxton just two points clear of the table. Only six points now separate the top 11 drivers with six races remaining.

Would like to correct an error Phiroze Bilimoria was in the Brookspeed Viper not the team rpm car.
