E39 530D Touring - front shock absorber upgrade
Discussion
Just about to get a pair of new strut inserts for the front of my 530D Touring, as the old ones are completely shot.
According to their website I can get OEM ones from Euro Car Parts for £80+VAT but I was wondering whether a set of slightly uprated aftermarket ones might be an option for around the same money.
As a rule I prefer cars to be on the stiffer side, perhaps due to the fact that I live in the Lakes and spend most of my driving career cornering! Now I don't want to go daft turning the thing into a go-kart with lowering kits etc, but my gut feeling is that something giving about a 20% upgrade on the standard ones would probably tighten things up nicely and make it just a little more like my much-loved-and-missed 330 Sport.
Any suggestions or first hand experiences much appreciated...
