Most of the main players (Direct Line, Churchill, etc.) have a blacklist of cars for which they won't provide quotes for under-25's. It's basically European stuff upwards (in performance terms) from 170bhp sports cars. Some do, however. Admiral and The AA should both quote, but they command a premium.
I'd recommend trying Confused.com to get an idea. I suspect you'll be looking around £2k fully comp.
I'd probably also check with some of the performance car specialists advertised on PH. I think "A Plan" are favoured, at least by the Porsche boys. There's an advert thread at the top of the Porsche forum.

i can deal with 2k, not really looking to spend more than that on insurance tho. I've got a budget of 15k for the car, and around 2k for insurance. Would it be much cheaper to get a 320? M sport couple?
I was also thinking about getting a new audi a3 2litre TDI s-line because it's only group 10 insruance, but i think the two cars are on a par. The audi will cost more but is cheaper to insurance, the bmw is cheaper, but will cost more to insure...

i've thought about the audi TT, just feel like it's a bit of a hair dressers car (no offence to anyone who has one) I was thinking about getting the new TT on hire purchase, but i can't really make my mind up if i like the looks. The interior is great, and the front of the car is great, just not kean on the rest of it.
The bmw is at the top of my list at the moment because i've always wanted a sports coupe, it's the cheapest one on my list, and i'm not going to loose as much money buying a 15k 325 coupe than i am getting a new a3 or TT on hire purchase. Even thought about getting a new 3 series coupe on hire purchase, but i'm not a big fan of the new bmw interiors, they seem a bit empty and bland for my liking. If i buy a new car i would probably get an audi.
It's going to be about two weeks untill i buy one because i'm waiting for some money to come through from the sale of a property. Plus i'm still debating the pro's and cons of getting a car on HP or paying cash. At the moment i'm pretty sure i'm going to get the bmw, but i want to find out how much it will cost me to finance it. I work for myself and there's a lot i can do with 15k that could outweigh the cost of financing.
