Hi,

I've had my new 05 Monaro a few days now, really like it, it feels very big and solid on the road and it's really nice to be back on a V8.

Yesterday the Speedo, Revs and Fuel Gauge all went a bit mad with the fuel showing empty, speedo showing 160mph at idle and 200mph+ when I was moving and the revs off the limit. The digital trip display showed the correct speed though.

Once I reached home I stopped the car and restarted it and noticed they all went down a bit, so I kept stopping and starting the car untill the speedo had reached 0 and the others had reset themselves.

Anyone else experienced this problem? The car is under warranty + Network Q but since I've kind of reset it I suppose I don't need to worry.

Other things I've noticed is that 3rd gear seems to pop out occasionaly (could just be me though), the windscreen wiper seems to quite loud as it reaches the drivers edge of the window, and the radio reception doesn't seem that good (although I think I read somewhere you can adjust the aerial or something).

One other question - for now wink do people use normal unleaded or super (v-power).

Thanks

Elliot

and the dash is a known issue but good luck getting your local place to do it unless you are local to greens.

Got the same problem with the wiper blade, a loud click?

Was told the wiper blades too long.

Look on the FAQ`s for the right size. (not bothered yet)

best off taking some photos of the dash when it does it but make sure the digital speedo is up as well as that will show the correct speed. then go in to local monaro dealers armed with the evidence, i had no problem getting mine sorted on warranty even though it had expired and i live miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiles away from Greens.

You can use normal unleaded if it's standard, but any sort of tune you'll probably want to use super. I always use Tesco 99 unless I can't find one when I need to, then V-Power or any other super.
Wipers is a known issue too. Several cars have experienced scratching at the mid point on the limit of wiper travel on drivers side. Both my Monaro's suffered, not a lot you can do about that, but the clicking means the blade is probably too long.
Hope your reset has resolved the issue, but get in touch with a main dealer (or specialist such as Monkfish) if you continue to experience problems. Sure they'll see you right.

Speedo is a known issue - should be fixed without too much problem as a warrenty issue..

Sounds like you need a new wiper - mine scracthed the windscreen and now is fine, quite expensive though.
