Le Mans - don't miss....

Just a reminder to anyone who's heading down to Le Mans over the next week of some of the Lotus related events that are happening...

RaceSpeed BBQ - Friday evening - 9pm until whenever... FREE beer & food as well as being sited next to the best roundabout in the world Find us in Houx Annexe not too far from the roundabout.

Saint Saturnin Classic British Welcome - any time from 9am on Friday 13th. Classic car exhibition, visits by past & present Le Mans drivers & celebrities, trade stands and cinema's showing Le Mans Legend film non-stop.. Also watch the start of the Drivers Parade.. All put on for FREE by the organisors of Le Mans 24hrs.. Look out for the London double Decker bus in Saint-Saturnin - more info here - www.classicbw.org/uk/index.htm

The Grand Parade of the Drivers - One of the biggest parades in the World. Come and support the 10 SELOC Lotus's who will be mixing it with the drivers & celebrities in this great event.

* A Gala event without Equal or Parallel - 2 hours of pageantry.
* In Le Mans city centre the route of 2km's will offer a spectacular procession of the heroes of the Greatest endurance race in the World.
* 7 Live stage shows, 8 orchestras, marching bands and entertainers.
* Lead by the 50 Team Cars & 150 racing drivers and including 100 other cars from all over the world.. and 10 Lotus's from the UK
* Over 130 TV channels will be broadcasting the parade along with 2400 journalists & photographers...

Just head for the city centres bars & restaurants from 4pm with the main parade starting at 6pm.

Le Mans Fish & Chip Run
The 3rd running of this event - starts Friday at 10am.

Were in Houx Annexe, nmight have to track this down. I dont have a lotus but then again they are putting an aftermarket type r engine in the elise not arnt they ?

everyones welcome.... we need all the help we can get to build this beer mountain... will also be loads of pistonfest stickers on the cars & vans so shouldn't be hard to find us...

Great when are you all arriving ? we should be there around Thursday lunchtime. So what is the previous beermountain record ?

we only got to 750 last year and www.beermountain.com have said if we get 2000 then that will set the bench mark.. someones done 1200 odd in previous years... as yet we've found no one near 2000 so beermountain have agreed this will be a record... until someone else beats it anyway... challenge anyone...??

Sorry guys, these are all feeble attempts in comparison to our group a few years ago...I think we had in excess of 4800 bottles in our pyramid which did not include the wine, champagne and Port bottles!
Two visits to the super market and two pallets later!

I can back up Mark B's story although from memory he fell asleep and had to be woken up by setting bangers off between his toes
