More help please - fitted the new lcd ok but...EFI fault

Thanks for the help & advice on fitting a new lcd - all went well on only took around the hour.

Problem now is it's showing EFI fault. I see on here that's not uncommon and not necessarily a problem, especially as it was p***ING down here yesterday.

Today - nice & dry but still showing the fault, plus I have a high pitched buzz that was there before the new lcd was fitted - I assume now that is a warning buzzer.

Does this mean I really have an EFI fault or could it still be a false alarm?

As a newbie to TVR's I'm relying on you guys & gals for help and advice.

Can I also ask - how/where to get spare keys

The buzzer is a warning alarm. In case you dont know you can clear an EFI fault warning by pushing in the right hand twisty knobby thing.
In my experience most EFI faults are intermittent false alarms caused by dodgy wiring.

The buzzer you can turn down or off using the settings screen as per manual (same way you change what rpm you want your shift lights etc.)

Thanks - I can't get the screen to clear by pushing the 'twiddly thing'

Is there any way I can be sure it's not the real thing fault wise without paying £££££ to a dealer?

Is running with it likely to cause any harm or damage?

OK, you may have the same problem i had when i changed my LCD display.
When i reassembled, i couldn't get the right hand knob to do anything it was supposed to, so i stripped it all back down again and found that the eight core ribbon cable was shagged where it was soldered to the little circuit board behind the switch. It was either damaged before, or i had damaged it in the strip down process.
Anyhow, i couldn't get a replacement, so i removed the little board and took it to a local computer wizz that i know and he cut it back and re-soldered the cable.

It has worked perfectly since. Deffo think you should look at this.

Hi there.

I had the EFI fault appear on Sunday. Drove about 20 miles no problems, stuck in traffic for a while waiting to park at Chatsworth so the car was hot when parked (water about 95), left it for a few hours and had the EFI fault on when I restarted her. This was on all the way home although the car performed perfectly, I disconnected the battery also just to see if that re-set the ECU, but no change to the code. I spoke to Ian @ Track v Road (what service, advice on a Bank holiday Monday!) and he advised that at worst it was likely to be a Lambda sensor, so don't drive it for fear of damaging the cat. I couldn't cancel the fault code whatever I did with any of the display contol knobs. I've had the intermittant fault previoulsy when the car's stood out in the rain (Le Mans for instance), but if it's on constantly I wouldn't take the risk not to get it properly checked out by someone who knows what they're on about.
