That's not that far off it's original selling price, is it?. Couldn't imagine you would ever drive it if you bought it. Put any kind of normal wear, tear and mileage on it and you would lose £5K in a year. Ouch!
Mind you, having said that, most people who walk into a car showroom these days do just that. So if you were in the market for an S and wanted a "new" one then this would be the one to go for.
Edited to add: especially if your names MEL.

Doesnt sound right to me,my S3 was one of the last and it was registered on 18th Dec 92 on a K reg,if its an M reg then its 94/95 and not 1992.Original selling price of mine was £19558,as I have a copy of the cheque in the cars service history.
Could be an S4 but I would be surprised if they were making them as late as 94/95.
Ok private plate so what reg is it really then.

I think it is safe to say it is a 1992 from the bonnet "hump". I think they have misquoted M from the personalised plate.
Incidentally, there were a handful of M reg S's. One is pictured in the bible. Probably sat around awaiting registration for some time though.
Still not sure of this buying an old car with too few miles on the clock though. There is low mileage, and there is unused....

Yes sorry mistakenly read the P as a prefix not a suffix. Rich...
Podie said: MEL 126P is a dateless reg...
Notice it's got the hump on the bonnet, so the S4 style bonnet with the Chim flanks.
My S3c is a 91J.. and has the S4 bonnet (see profile).
p.s. not exactly dateless as a P suffix was circa 1976
i think that price is fair......if i was in the running for a mint example with low miles and bought it from a dealer then i recon its about right. I personally would go for a mint S series with low miles than a scruffy griff/chim with high miles. Theres always someone out there for a car like this.
