near to where I live there is a "T" junction controlled by traffic lights

if approaching from one of the roads and wishing to turn right the turning is so placed as for it to be physically impossible to see round the corner and therefore if your exit is clear, so what have they now done??

painted Box markings at the junction with no way of seeing (if turning right at said Junction), if your Exit is clear!!

I wonder how long it will be before a camera goes in to catch all those sitting targets, they have no chance

is this Legal or just bloody stupid?

no conspiracy here I'm afraid.

see rule 150.

You are allowed to wait in the box if turning right etc.

Are you sure that this language applies in these circumstances?

"However, you may enter the box and wait when you want to turn right, and are only stopped from doing so by oncoming traffic, or by other vehicles waiting to turn right."

AIUI, the OP would not be prevented from turning right, as he had already turned right.
If he was blocked, it would only be by traffic on his carriageway. If that traffic was stopped just beyond the border of the box, could he be sure that that it was only waiting for oncoming traffic to clear before turning right?

but the problem will never go away as you genuinely cannot see if your exit is clear, it's a physical impossibility without using a periscope

Me neither - it would be much easier to comment on the junction if you posted a picture.

Even a link to Googly Map (like POD post up sometimess) would help wink

I think road curve on approach to lights with the right hand turn to junction to him being "diagonally right" perhaps scratchchin

Perhaps the better solution would have been "staggered lights to allow for the right turners. :scratchchchin:/allow traffic to clear ahead. scratchchin

So it appears there's not *correct* way to turn right at this junction?

I'd contact the authorities, ask them to address the issue.

Or take another route biggrin
