Can't shake off the Cerb bug - but need to know one will fit in my garage before I take the plunge. More importantly, whether I'll be able to get out of it, once it's in. I reckon it will be tight.

I'm a few miles from Ferrybridge, close to J46 of the A1. Any chance someone can pop round with their baby at a time to suit and see if it will squeeze in. Beer voucher provided.

Thanks

Not local but if you struggle to get out once in (they do have v.long doors) you can always push it in, strip of wood to floor, roll it till it touches that (make sure your aim is good wink ). Chock the backs and jobs a goodun. Bit of a faff but they are worth it. That being said mine lives outside hehe

Mines quite tight but I can get out if I push the seat right back. Put a bit of old carpet on the wall oppersite the drivers door to protect the paint.

Cheers guys - I've gone for the carpet trick which works for my current car but it's the length of the doors that worries me (there's a post halfway up the garage which may complicate things).

Get yourself down to the North-yorks TVRCC meet, there will be some Cerbys there, you never know, one may be ok to try one of theirs in your garage.

Thanks again. C3BER you have email, Kevin, when's the next one? I do some funny hours and IIRC they're on Mondays - which I can't make.

I had to move some racking from the back wall to make it fit but a double garage so no trouble with Width. My problem was ground clearance, I have a steep slope up into my garage so I had to alter this to get it in. I'm just of M62 East near Howden, how far is that from Ferrybridge? Are you East or West of Ferrybridge. I also go to TVRCC North Yorkshire, next meet is 2nd thursday in Sept 13th I think.

That's right North-yorks meet Sept 13th then they change to the 2nd Sunday of the month, don't how far you like to travel, but you would also be very welcome at The South-yorks meet our events are on our site, we will have a few TVRs at Thoresby Hall on bank holiday Monday along with loads of classic cars and bikes, £5 per person, it's on all day.

I'm just north of Ferrybridge. Length of the garage is no problem, and there's no steep drive to worry about - it's purely a width thing (fnarr fnarr).

I've not had a problem when I had my cerb in a single garage which was a width of 2450mm, bit tight on the squeeze out the door, but easily possible with the window up and seat left alone. windong down the window and moving the seat back made it very easy.

There is one defining factor on how easy it is though... how can I put this delicately so as not to offend...

... are you a fat bastard? wink

Nah - just under 6ft, 12 stone.

My garage is a similar width, but there's a pillar about halfway back which I reckon is in just the wrong place.

Another trick that I have seen done = reverse car to just in front of garage, turn off engine, get out and then push it in.
Or how about just climb out the window. Maybe attach a bar to the wall to help you pull yourself out and lower yourself in!

I'm a cerb owner & living very close to yourself, Altofts, just a couple of junctions along the 62. If it helps you I can pop round one eve for a garage fit.

Any takers? Mine will be going on the market soon and I need to know if a Cerb will go in. If not, it looks like I'll be going for an M Coupe.
