Discussion
hi new to PH
Off to monaco next month. just wondering if there is any car shows or must see dealers. thought this was the most approriate place to ask? I know the density of exotics is unbelievable !
any body else driven down there? any other must do things?
hoping to drive around the F1 circuit too!

Every second car parked in the street will be some sort of exotica. Make for Place Casino since that is where most of them hang out. Driving the F1 circuit is easy and a must do. There’s not much on the dealer side of things. I seem to remember a small independent garage with a couple of early 90’s Ferrari’s in there but I’ve seen nothing like the big marble and glass main dealers Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche etc have in the UK. The amount of exotica in the street makes up for it.
Non motoring related things to do are to take a walk around Monaco Ville – the old town on the top of the cliff. Take a walk to the beach – to the east of the harbour and go to the casino if that’s your sort of thing. Lots of nice villages and roads to explore in the surrounding area if you have a car.

not sure about dealers, but whatever you do, DONT speed through the tunnel. the cops have got wise to that one and will be lying in wait for you.
Yes, there's a speed camera at the exit of the tunnel pointing in the direction the F1 track runs in. Never saw a copper there though and did not get flashed when I went past. Pays to be careful though.Edited by t1grm on Friday 17th August 10:01

At least you can find mclaren-mercedes-maybach and lamborghini dealers in Av. Princess Grace. But the best thig to do to view exotica is to wander around the casino. Last time there were two murcielago roadsters, a diablo, plentiful of ferraris and so on. If you go to the marina between the main harbour in Monaco and the marina at Cap D'Ail, you'll find a pretty good dealer (but small) fronting where the larger gin palaces are berthed.
I had a look in there a couple of times last year, the first time he had 2 Enzos, an F50, an F430, a Carrera GT and some other exotica. I posted a thread about 8/9 months ago titled 'Monaco Auto Porn', will give you a taste of what was there and parked up in the vicinity.

depends - when I was there mid summer last year I didn't see much. Lots of rollers (yawn) and Bently Flying Spurs and 1 SLR (driven by old bald gentleman obviously trying to get noticed driving it up and down all afternoon - nobody looked twice
Did see a galllardo spyder which was nice, but frankly I feel you'll probably see more exotica in central london. The majority of cars there were 996/7 porkers which is great petrol head stuff, but not really head turning.
Although having said that there was another Aero8 there while I was there, and finding two of those in one place is proper twighlight zone stufff with at the time < 400 ever produced.
Oh and saw a really nice 330GT in some kind of metallic olive colour - very pretty.
Now boats on the other hand - you've got plenty to get excited about...

yeah go down the steps by mcdonalds from the main street to the marina and there is a nice small dealer who usually has enzos and bugattis. There is also one if you walk down from the train station through the 'high street' (past the big nike shop) and when you get to some gardens and a small cafe area, there is a lamborghini and bugatti dealer there also. Monaco actually has very little in terms of buying expensive things, a few designer shops and car showrooms but its mainly just the rich people coming from outside, no one actually buys the stuff when they are there!I had a look in there a couple of times last year, the first time he had 2 Enzos, an F50, an F430, a Carrera GT and some other exotica.
