I have found quite a cheap early 03 evo 8 gsr 260bhp with low miles and just wondering what the fq300 has that the gsr doesnt o.k i know to start with 40bhp more but what else spec wise?
Whats the quoted performance figures for both?
Also what mods are you talking to get up to around 330bhp from the 260bhp?
Thanks

260 has a five speed box, 300 has a six speed.

I believe the MR has a different turbo, cams exhaust, ECU, spoiler if you check out www.lancerregister.com and go to the model comparison bit or just start a thread on there you will soon be inundated with all the info you need.
The 260 was only available as a uk car and was the only model fitted with isofix mountings for a bairns seat. For what it would cost you to modify a 260 it works out better to start with an MR model, if you really want to go for driving capabilities go for an RS which has a different diff set up and no AYC

Chriz1, as said above;

But be careful about your budget. It can be affordable to get behind the wheel of an Evo but they are all expensive to run. MLR also have a running costs calculator;

The figures usually quoted for mpg are about 21mpg for any Evo the truth is probably closer to half that. Great cars and awesome to drive but you really do need quite deep pockets to keep it on the road

When you're pushing on, the MPG figures as best not dwelling upon but I use mine as a daily runner and for flowing with motorway traffic I average 23-25mpg on a tank. Expect it to be more like 18mpg if there is any town work.

I average btween 120 and 150 miles per tank which is about 45 quid to fill the missus can stretch that to about 190 miles so as you say the MPG is not worth thinking about. Smiles per miles make it worth while though
