Hello

It wouldl appear that owners of a certain TVR model pride themselves on a bare chested hard as nails four sugars in my tea with extra caffeine and cholesterol approach.

Some say that they never carry the targa panel as this adds weight to their thoroughbred vehicles....that lesser mortals never take their roofs off their less desirable steeds....well just look at this..

Err spot the one with the roof off?biggrin

And another telling shotbiggrin

However there was hope for TVR....as one car was viewed leaving Ettington with the full roof and rear section off.....hold on it was WWM's own Mac Jones in his........

450 Chimaera NOS powered car....are the smell of ....biggrin

Either way had a nice day out...thanks to Blaine for the lift in his 400SE Wedge.

Looked like a good turn out...just this stupid weather put a slight dampness on it.

Dan,

That's cos you have been through the WWM TVRCC hardening process...take 26 TVR's to Cornwall in the wet...sit them in a field dowse them with copious amounts of rain...then get the Cornwall and Devon crews to take them out for a 10 hour blasts over coast roads in heavy rain...this stuff today...well it's not in the same league!

Best thing was my Griff lift and convoy didn't show cos it "looked like rain"...oh err misses!

That said there were some nice cars there and plenty of vendors, plus it was well supported...and we were made welcome...so thanks (this is only a bit of fun you know!)

See you at the Bulls Z

Oh and a bonnet up too...but lids well and truely on...

And me too, here's the evidence, Barreti's is the one with the yellow stripe, and mine is the Olympic Blue just to the right of Barreti facing the camera.

No doubts fairplay, just throwing some stuff back for the ribbing the Chimaera's took last weekend....just me on my own, you know no mates!

I feel a bit bad for lowering myself to make such childish posts....but it would appear to appeal to certain folkbow

Good gathering,, nice cars pity the rolling road ended early cos of the weather, certainly more cars than the first one I went to at the Griff Pub, Nuneaton a few years back, nice sunny day that was, had a bit of a run out to Gaydon too.

Roof off:

Have you ever seen a Chimaera with its roof off in the rain? Although if you look back to BBWF 2005 a good 60-70 cars turned up with the roof down in the rain.

There were a few Wedges with roofs off. I sat in traffic in Stratford in the Pouring rain with no roof on, with everyone looking. There is only 1 solution to combat the rain. 'The harder it rains the faster you go'

First day on Eurohoon last year was raining, heavy at times... mine had the roof off the whole time cool

Dunstable Hoon in March was raining... roof off all the way smokin

So yes many times is the answer to your question smile

Chris,

I am soo disappointed at you, siding with the knuckle scrapers!

Just speak to Mac (macdeb) later today, his Chimaera was the only car with the roof off yesterday as we left....still I suppose the counter arguement would be that he has owned 2 griffs before seeing the light and buying his 450 Chimaera.....:shoot

One guy there had a real smart engine bay with a very shiny plenum....it was a 500 and the plenum top "infil" bits were painted blue blue, get any pictures Chris?

Sorry Growlers but you walked straight into this one. hehe Several Griffs with Lidfest stickers at Chimfest. Several photos of Chimareas taken just after the Chimfest rain placed along side photos of Griffs before the Chimfest rain. It's time for payback.

The long treasured belief that Griff drivers don't carry their roofs because they take up valuable golf cart space in the boot has proved to be a myth biglaugh

The photo evidence cannot be disputed. nono People walking around in dry conditions surrounded by roofed Griffs.

People should know when they are defeated. punch

This tarmac is bone dry hehe

No photos sorry, I think I missed that one.

I have to agree there wasn't any rain for the first few hours and there where hardly anyone other than the Midlands cars with their roof off (mine was up!).

The thought of all those rusty medallions. Perhaps it would be better if the Griff boys remained under cover. getmecoat

Double standards by some of the Lidfest crew here I'm ashamed to say. redface
Only the PH policy of no name and shame forbids me from pointing out that ALL the organisers left their roofs on ALL day. Including the two car family who committed double this heinous crime ranting

Thanks to Darkmatter and the visiting Wedge boys though - at least they kept the roof count down thumbup
