Is it safe to click on "reset throttle" on the ECU software, I have balanced all the throttle bodies and reset the adaptives, but it still just seems a little lumpy on tickover and a bit jerky sometimes on throttle take up at small throttle openings, it is great at full throttle and on the motorway at constant speed, that is why i am thinking it could be the reset throttle thing but don't want to do it until i know it is safe to do so.
If that does'nt work then would it mean a new throttle pot, and if so is that easy to fit.

Any advise no matter how little in this area would be greatly recieved.

I have clicked on the 'Reset all adaptives' (Can't remember the correct wording cos it was long time ago) and it was fine - it just means the ECU will start 'learning' again from scratch.

It wouldn't let me do it when I tried it in desperation a while back...

Hi !

Yes it is safe to push reset throttle since you have a Speed Six. On the Speed Six you should not adjust the throttlepots just reset them that is what it says in the manual that is for the software.
The reset throttle function of the program is only for Speed Six engines.
I while a go i made a manual for the software in wordformat, you can download it from Byker28i:s homepage.

Peppe your a star, you don't by any chance know why there is a blue and a grey throttle pot do you, I was looking at buying one anyway but there are two sorts, I can always phone the place that sells them but just wondered if you knew.

I don´t know what cars use blue or grey throttle pots, look at you car what colour you have and buy the same kind. Why are you going to buy a new one ? Do you have jumpy readings on one ?

If you have a jumpy reading from one of the throttle pots, it could give you the problems you have described. Hope it is the front one that is bad, the rear one seems to be a big job to change since it is on the throttle body that is closest to the bulkhead facing towards the bulkhead. I guess you need to take the trotthle body out to replace the pot on that one.

The throttle pots don't appear to be jummpy, it was just me fearing the worst, when i get time and it stops p*****g it down with rain, I will reset the throttle like you said, the car is running ok but I just know it can run better, I have owned it from new (6 half years now) and you just get to know when something is not %100 if you know what I mean, oh, and your Speed Six manual is brilliant, thanks.

I have reset adaptives and throttle and car runs smother, thanks Peppe, noticed adaptives running at +2 and -22 but seems to run fine, don't know whether it's anything to worry about or not.

I would try to balance the two banks by adjustning on the throttle adjustment screw that is between throttle 3 and 4, and by that get the difference between the two maps down.

From what I've read on here the blue throttle pots are for the AJPV8 angines and the grey ones are for the Speed6 engines.

I'm sure the seller would advise you of this anyway.

Just got back from a 100+ miles run after the adaptives and throttle resets and wow, it must have been quite a bit iffy, it's now smooth and pulls with no problem in 5th at 28mph (gps) also the response of the throttle is smooth and instant, that means it's stopping as it is, with no new stuff added or setting changes now.
Thanks Peppe for your spot on advice, you've saved me a few quid there.
