Went to Chessington yesterday and just thought I'd post a few pics up.

Because of the water there (in the adventure park rides - and the rain) I didn't want to take the Canon DSLR and just took the little Fuji compact but it does give good results even if somewhat limited.

What's the apathetic fur ball in shot no. 3 ? It looks like he ought to be behind the tills in a second rate burger bar !

From a compact they look quite good. I'm off to Twycross on wednesday and am looking forward to testing my new camera out, compared to when I last went and took the sony. (didn't get any decent pics then)

It's my old Fuji and gives pretty good results.
It is a bit slow and the screen is hopeless in low light and it's only 3.1 megapixels which was good but is now not many but it never fails to impress me.

A few more similar pics taken with a Canon compact point & shoot camera (TX1):

And something not with animals, but also with the point & shoot compact.

That moon shot is pretty impressive. What zoom was it taken with?

Thanks Kentish smile

Rob, the moonshot was taken on a tripod, using full optical zoom (10x) and digital zoom (4x), hence 40x combined. I also exposure compensated down 1 stop, and used a 2 sec shutter delay to reduce vibrations.

The detail is lacking I suspect primarily due to the use of digital zoom, but of course the lens and sensor are rather small in any case on these shirt pocket sized cameras.

Made by my 5-year old daughter. Really it is. She made 5 in a row - of course - and has a keen eye.
