From what I have heard, that white Anniversary has been on Ebay for about 2 years being sold by an apparently unpleasant and dodgy car dealer. I have had no personal dealings with him myself, but i know of people who have. I heard that the white Anniversary was included in one of Coy's summer auctions. Dont know what the result was.

Ian's car is a very good one and thats about it for Countach's at the moment. About a year ago, there were about 5 on the market.

My one is not for sale at the moment. Although the engine and gearbox were rebuilt in November 2006, I decided to have another engine and gearbox rebuild that was only just finished yesterday. There was nothing wrong with the car, but its so interesting to have two sets of expert's eyes go over your complete car. If anyone is interested, you can look at the photos here:

I wouldn't touch the white one on ebay with a bargepole. Look at the guys feedback and the way he responds to people and make your own judgement. Never dealt with him myself, never will, but he has had Corvettes for sale before (And I know them inside out) and the utter crap he was spewing about them was ridiculous. Plus they were overpriced. A bad lambo can cost a fortune to sort and I would be very dubious about his.
The blue one was sold by Martin Ingham cars recently. I believe the story is that teh current owner bought it for his girlfriend and she didn't like it, hence for sale again. At £49995 it seems a very fair price, almost a bargain if it's a good one. I suspect it's hanging around because of the colour combo, particularly the interior. I actually quite like it, but it's a very love it or hate it scheme. If it has had an engine rebuild I'd want to know why though. My research before buying mine suggested that these are pretty tough cars when properly maintained. With around 18K miles it would seem low mileage to have needed a rebuild. As it's a private sale I would advise getting a proper inspection done. I bought mine from a dealer so had some warranty and recourse, you won't get that with a private sale though.

Hi Fast Cars

Daniels HOTSEX, and Ian's C701 BYX are (by far) the best two Countach's I have seen for some time.
As Daniels is no longer for sale - there's only one other choice!! (if you want the best that is!!).

If you need any advice in buying or what to look for, feel free to PM me.

313Km from new. That would worry me as these cars really need to be used regularly. Having a car like this stored away is never good for it. I know that Lambo expert Mike Pullen firmly believes that these very low mileage cars can be potentially problematic. Components can seize, dry out, rot etc. The best thing is to look for is a car with more miles but has been regularly serviced by a reputable service technician. Full Service History is essential, so you know where the car has been, what work has been done, what mileage it has done and who has maintained it.

I would agree with finding one that had been used. Mine had been sporadically used (7000miles) and so far has been quite labour intensive. As for the white car.....it's a hound! Had reasonable report back from someone who had seen the blue one. Lovely interior! Well I like it! I've seen a black one for sale somewhere as well, not yours Daniel, I think it may have been in one of the Classic car magazines. It may well be the one that sold at Coys last month being sold on.

Going back to that white Anniversary, i take it that it didnt sell at the Coy's auction.

Just read through the seller's feedback!! He has written alot more about the car's history in this advert. Saying that, would rather touch a Great White Shark than this car!!

I've never seen the white car that people say is so bad in the metal - I have only the word of fellow PH'ers for information about it's condition... If it's the same car as an Anniversary I was asked to give an insurance valuation for some years ago, it will have been used only between MOT stations for some years and which had benefited from absolutely NO servicing at all in some ten or more years since it was first sold in the UK.

The owner of that car (whether it's the white one that's around and about at the moment or not) said at the time that as the car had travelled less than 3,000 miles it didn't need a service. I resisted the temptation to say the car was therefore probably worth about £54.27...

If that particular car ever sells, whether it's the one that's so 'famous' at the moment or not, it will have to have been bought by the worlds dumbest sap, in my opinion. You'd not expect to find Shergar in a drafty and damp shed and then expect the poor horse to race and win tomorrow; same applies with any Lamborghini ... under use is bad use!!

Whilst the blue car does have that challenging interior colour arrangement and not everybody likes the Acapulco exterior, from what I've seen and heard of it (sounded better than just OK to me!) and know about it, it's probably worth a look with the current owner on the south coast. Although it hasn't been with Martin Ingham in wonderful Lancashire for some time now and as all the faffing about with values of it seems to have stopped, the asking price is pretty keen in what is fast becoming a quite heated marketplace!

The guy with the white countach goes by the name of steve the maniac swapper...Says it all I looked at the car 3 years ago or there abouts.. He told me he just got back from Devon.. No tax and mot on it for along time before.. So no servicing..

So i hear the guy do his sales pitch.. I opened up the engine bay to have a look.. Engine was cold.. He said do you want to hear her.. I said go on.. He started it up and revved the nuts off it from cold and said after he turned it off.. Dont she PURR!!!

If that car was £30k i would not buy it.. It has been used in all wheather {salt} if you look underneath..

Just a word of warning.. if its sunny take some sunglasses as he wears as much gold as B.A Baracus.

Not sure the previous owners would be too happy having their names and addresses platered all over the internet.

I am almost certain that this car used to belong to a good friend of mine. I helped him source the car back in 1999, when it was traded into Lamborghini/AFN. This was a very good(not excellent) car that was also used by Portmans at the Earls Court Motorshow in circa '88/89. It had a good history up to the point at which we did the deal, but that was 8 years ago...I should also say that it is a real pitty that these works of art fall into such questionable hands...
