Hi there,

Thought it easier to start a new thread as there have not been any pictures of this event posted yet.

Nearly didn't go today, only got back from holiday yesterday and the weather looked dicey to say the least. Glad I went in the end, only hit some rain on the M1 about 10 miles from home.

Quite a low turnout due to the weather forecast but still some superb cars on show.

Lets start with these two stunning Panteras. I have seen the maroon one before but the orange one just blew me away.

There were a couple of Countach Anniversaries on display. Spoiler or not, you choose.

Mystic bought along his gorgeous Murcielago, certainly drew the crowds.

Team Modena bought along there Gallardo British GT car. The plan was to unload the car and display it on the gravel outside the hall. However the car has such little ground clearance that they were unable to back it off the truck as the gravel was quite deep (see how the flatbed has dug in in the picture). In the end they put it back on the flatbed and back on the truck.

Good looking Fiat Rally Car

Nice Replica Integrale Rally Car

Stunning F40, nice to see it displayed this way.

Quite like this colour on the Quattroporte

This was a rare car, early Maserati prototype and apparently one of only 13 in the world. This car is huge.

Always nice to see a 360 Challenge Stradale, especially one with such a good numberplate. I did not believe it was the actual plate until I had a look at the tax disc and it is indeed genuine.

This 599 was a late arrival, again quite a nice plate on this one.

I am a big fan of the Alfa Romeo SZ and know I can always bank on seeing one or two at these sort of events.

Finally todays event saw the UK debut of the new Fiat 500. There were two left hand drive examples on display. This is a great little car and should definitely give the BMW Mini a run for its money. Very cute.

Hope you like pictures.

Regards

Tim

Oh God, those two Pantera's are awesome!!!!

Good to see Thomas's black Anniversary turned up to represent the black Anniversary fraternity. Nick's sensational Murcielago looks so vibrant and clean for having been driven down on wet roads.

Would love to have gone, but the weather was hideous this morning when I got up.

Thank you so much for taking and sharing all the photos with us - it makes all of us who didnt go, feel that we didnt miss out on everything!

Great photos... the Fiat 125 stirred some memories (had one when young, a 125 Europa, what a nice, quick and responsive little car...)

Did anyone else spot the 360 Modena with the very rare opional sunroof? I have never seen one in the flesh be for. If ya did not look closely it was easy to miss.

Tim - as usual some great photos.

Panteras are stunning cloud9

Somehow whenever I see a Countach with a wing it just doesn't look right!

I know a guy who had one like this-was it red with creama Chas? He px'ed a couple of years ago for a 430. Was very unusual.

and yet so many people would say that a Countach WITHOUT a wing looks unfinished in some way...

I can never understand why owners don't just buy another boot lid (and struts!) and have an interchangeable 'one with and one without' scenario - would keep people guessing whether this month meant you had to have the wing or not (or is that another area of discussion altogether????)

As regards lack o' Lamborghinis at Stanford Hall or any event: Why do some people think that the amount of Lamborghinis in the UK is anything like the number of Ferraris or Maseratis? Please check the AI event at Gaydon in September for rather more of our cars!!

Great pix once again Tim!!

You know what? In my rush to click submit on my post before my boss came round the corner I didn't check what I had typed.

I actually meant that whenever I see one without a wing it doesn't look right!!! banghead

I had a picture of a black Countach 5000 on my wall as a young 'un (much like the one pictured in Tims OP) and that to me represents a proper Countach.
And obviously the Countach in the Canonball Run is another example burned into my tiny little mind biggrin

As I said, it's all a matter of personal preference!!

In my quite wide experience of driving Countachs, (I know that sounds really bloody blasé, sorry), a few with a wing and at least one without, the responses of The General Public have included words ranging from "why hasn't this got a wing?", to " the wing's the thing, why has it been removed?" to "these cars look awful with that stupid wing!" to "what a great car, shame about the lack of a wing!" to "that wing looks horrible!" to "I'd want to get in if it had one of those cool wings!" to "the last time I saw one of these it was one of those Le Tomato kinds." (...a momentary lapse of concentration for somebody there...)

If I was forced to choose between one or t'other, (and I should be so lucky!), I'd want to be able to do as I suggested anyone might and have one bootlid without and another with - which I suppose is not making a choice at all...
