I think there's more to choose between the two than purely the driving position. I for one wouldn't feel 100% happy with a S6 under the bonnet, I'd always be waiting for the 'bang', but there are plenty who love them.

I can't really compare driving the both, only ever been a passenger in a tuscan.

But I have no problems driving the cerb in fact I find it very comfortable indeed, quite happy to drive for long distances in it too, would be quite happy to test drive a tuscan to compare the differences though smile

do you know if the cerb you drove had the tuscan seats? I'm not sure which way round but some people find the the different seats in the cerb more comfortable.

I'm short/small so can't really answer this, but I can certainly vouch for the cerberas touring capabilities. I've driven mine for hours at a time without discomfort.

Drove mine for 4 hours yesterday Scotland to England and felt fresh as ever when I got out. I've also driven the Cerbera non stop apart from fuel stops for 9 hours and apart from being deaf when I got out ...I felt great.

I'm a big bloke 6' 1" and approaching 17 stone (again frown) and find the cerb more roomy than a Tuscan, admittedly i've only test driven though. But i have been from Aberdeen to London twice in the Cerb and only stop for fuel, very comfy!

As for performance, i was enjoying some spirited driving with a Tuscan RR on the country roads yesterday and there was nothing in it really, what differences there are will be offset by driver capability/size of spuds biggrin

Had both, and my Tuscan was a Red Rose. Cerb feel more brutal agreed, but the later Cerbs with the bigger view from front, and there is not much difference to a Tuscan. Remember, the LW cars do have Tuscan Seats, and if the fit in the Cerb, there would not be much difference.

Make sure you get a good Speed 6 engine, or you may be up for a big bill

As a fat bastid I have no problem with comfort in the cerb, south of france to manchester is fun with a decent caffine intake, and plenty of splash and dashes en route. I have driven quite a few tusc's (i do love the style and the roof out bit) but it really is no match for the cerb, distances and prolonged high speed sessions are tiring and the normal orchestra of the AJP v8 is swapped for a booming drone from the chocolate 6. The Tusc is 'skittish' at high speed and can be a handfull in the wet, I just feel more at home in a Cerb....must be a snob in my old age wink

Hope you are happy with yer choice and as stated FFS make sure you get a good one..... bundles of wallet pain if you don't.

Good luck and happy driving

I wouldn't have too may worries about moving the right arm. As long as you can plant the right foot you can't go far wrong wink. Plus you say your gonna get a Cerb any way after 6 month!
Get the Cerb. Could do with more on the block in this neck of the woodsbiggrin
On a serious note, is there realy more room in the Tuscan? I have been in one but can remember thinking it was bigger.

I'm sure you will be happy with what ever one you choose. Would highly recommend a trip to the local TVR meet and chating with the owners.
I have to say that I was worried a hell of alot before buying my 1st TVR. When you take the plung the worry goes, you can't get that childish grin off your chops and if the engine does go POP! You wont be half as bothered as you are now because you will love it that much!

There are a couple of larger owners on here (I wouldnt be so rude as to say who they are) and they have never said anything. I am just under 6ft and depending on how hard I am training etc can vary my weight between 13 and 14 stone. I know the problem you are referring to but the steering is pretty quick and so you dont need much elbow room. I tended to drive with my right elbow on the door top / window sill , even with the window closed. Snug but do-able.

ps dont rush buying one
a) the weather will be rubbish
and b) you want a good one. - Dont rely on dealers for good uns. DO your research and get someone who knows TVRs to look at it. eg on a cerb you want to check for smoke and strange sounds, chassis rot and then just the usual hitstory and condition stuff.

I do know what you mean about space on the right hand side. BUT did you move the steering wheel position? it can go forwards a fair way, his straightens the elbow and gives your right arm bit more room?

:cough: Ive got this mate right. Top fellah, not overly tall. Shaped a bit like a barrel. He says the arm thingy has never been a problem. He also said he quite likes the snug fit as it happens, coz he doesnt slip about in the seat when pushing on like the skinny feckers would do. :cough:
