Doe's the side window tuck up just under the rubber or against it?
Iv'e adjusted it to just tuck in under the seal however the alloy stay rubs against it so it not the ideal water tight solution.
Look's like I may have to grind the stay as ive aligned the door's perfectly.

Hint to anyone wanting to rebuild a tiv to a Porcshe perfection....Don't do it!!! You'll be pulling your hair out with frustration

Hi Paul,

Under, if i'm understanding you correctly smile The flat part approx 15mm horizontal. The alli stay only touches it sometimes, depending on roof position (when onwink)

On the driver & passenger windows mine bisects it 8.75mm one side 7.25 the other hehe

Cheers
Look's like I may have to trim the stay,as it distorts the rubber causing the glass not to tuck under.
Oh well,Ive only spent a week on these doors, whats another couple of hoursbanghead

Just so I'm clear
Is it like this, which means I have to adjust to a Nats cock just to tuck under the lip.

As an aside, I notice your horn-push is dangling rather elegantly - this is how mine spends much of it's life.
Does anyone know of the proper way to secure it? (The 'spring' doesn't hold it tight enough).

I think your targa seal looks like this (upsidedown):

in which case the window should sit UNDER and push against the flat bit of rubber (your first picture).

Does this help ?

Not sure the seal you have is the same, in pic 2 the hole in it looks like a door seal scratchchin not the one Jonathan has posted above...

Cheers mate
I can only get it like that when I wind the window up with the door closed, when I shut the door with the window fully up it rests against the seal.
The seal is so flat horizontally I can't see how it can be water tight if it just clears the outer gutter, think i'll have to compromise.

scratchchin when you mentioned the the A pillar i was thinking you need a hand on the glass just behind it to giude it under the rubber, sometimes i do this if the roof is over to one side slightly...

But you've got me now !!! will have another think smile so be back in about 2 weeks wink

Are there different profiles available? Somewhat typically the gf's side leaks which means I can't leave it unfixed!

Mine butts up flat but the window sits slightly low at the back, hence it leaks. I could pack the rear runner but new seals is easier and mine are probably tired anyway. Where can you get new ones from?

Well I guess if you look at JohnathanT's pic you can get it from www.clever-trevor.com? Failing that I got some from Peninsula a couple of years ago. It's only a few quid for a couple of metres. Most dealers should be able to source it.

Yeah Woolies do it but didn't have any in stock at the time. Got my carpet from them too. Good company.

Thanks, Woolies are only up the road from here... Couldn't see the MKII seal on their site but I'll pop in for a look as it definitely appears to be a better profile and has more chance of actually sealing!
