Insurance company wanted over £6000 for it, think it was a good price as the engine was rebuilt last year which cost over £3000, had silicon hoses and a few other nice bits.

Was there anything structural damaged underneath?
Seems a bit odd they'd write it off for what looks like just a nose job, a bit of work on the back quarter, a new rad and a respray.

Bodyshop quoted 10.5K for the repair, they wrote it off after that, no damage to chassis etc, drove it onto the recovery truck. It also had adjustable shocks, recent wishbones and polybushes, sleeved exhaust etc.

just goes to show doesnt it! insurance company as you said wanted 6g s for it, yet the salvage company sold it for just over 4 on ebay and still probably made a healthy profit.!

It also got a Cat C, the damage was fairly light and I only expected it to be a Cat D. The car was already a cat D car when I bought it and the damage was not as bad this time around, looks like its been knocked about a bit in its life, apparently it also had some rear end damage when it was in singapore.

I wasn't going to argue with them as they gave me a very good payout, I do hope someone will repair it though and not just break it for parts.
