Is it me or is Picture Project a bit cr*p?
Discussion
I know I am fairly new to digital photography but I can't say I'm that impressed with the Nikon 'Picture Project' software supplied with my D40, Full screen displayed images look alot sharper and brighter with microsofts picture viewer and the editing is also pretty limited , I've got Photoshop 7 but that doesn't have a storage/organising facility and doesn't seem to want to upload my raw images (that could be me!), I've thought about Elements 5 can anybody recomend it and would it do the whole package ie: store/organise/slideshow/edit/raw(nikon neff)?
Thanks in advance!

Have you looked at Photoshop Lightroom? That seems to tick all your boxes.
Pains me to agree with HTF but Lightroom is a terrific bit of kit.Organises just how you want it, converts and develops RAW just how you want it. Worth the effort to learn. Stick PP in the bin...
Lightroom does look good but it looks like after reading some reviews that my aging pc won't be able to handle it, apparently there is an issue with AMD processors as well which would slow it down even more? So... I've looked at Elements 5 (which might still be similar problem) Or should iI consider using Picassa as a stop gap until a new PC happens (is it better than Picture Project)? Or shall I just struggle on with PP and convert my Raw's to Tiffs to work on in PS7 ?
