does anyone have any 205 5 spoke wheels for sale. or swap for 2 x 225 400SE 5 spokes.

This is for a friend, who has a set of 400SE wheel he plans to put on his 280, but I think he'd be better with 205 at the front, as he has no PAS plus the 280 does not have flared arches.

205 is the width of the tyre not the wheel, you can fit 205 tyres to 8J 400SE wheels. The 350SE did not have 5 spokes it had special lattice wheels.

Well I was not sure of the wheel size, hence posting the standard tire size,

I know they did 3 widths of the 5 spokes the widest are the 16" tuscans I think they are 8" wide, then the 15" 400SE ones which I think are 7.5" wide, but they also did some I think 7" ones I know they was not as wide as the 400SE ones, I thought these was the 350SE wheels.

maybe you could fit 205 on the 400SE wheels but they would look a bit strange.

widest were about 9.5, 400SE was/is? 8.0 some 350s had them 7IIRC but the 350SE had wheels unique to that model - a sort of convex multi-spoke.

Well I was not 100% on the width of the wheels that why I put the standard tire size

I know the slim one had 205 and the 400SE had 225 and 235/245 45 on the 16" wheels.

I think everyone know's what I mean tho by the 350 5 spoke 400SE style wheels.

Well they are that style,

Its hard to tell from the pic what width they are. maybe he may want to swap if he wants some wider rears.

As I said I was asking about the 5 spokes as standard to the 400SE, but the ones that are not as wide as the ones fitted to the 400SE, not sure what they was fitted to, but they had 205 tires as standard.

Not sure TVR ever fitted 'narrow' 400se style 5 spokes but there are some cars around with what you discribe. I think the doner car is Mercedes they are similar style to 400se (not identical) but 7in. Tasmania sold some some on here a couple of years ago.

Ok that what I must be getting confused with,
I know I had in the past saw some 350 with a narrower wheel, as there was hardly any dish on them,
I think i saw these a on a 350SE but they must have been a after fit, as the 350SE is a rare car, and was the only one I saw I thought these was standard on this car.

Thank you for clearing up my confusion.

One day I'll get somthing right.

I'm not surprised that you're confused. I've yet to see two wedges that were exactly the same when they left the factory. You are correct that there is a narrower 5 spoke OZ wheel which was fitted to some 350i cars by the factory (IIRC it was an option from circa 1988.)

Very unusual for a 350SE but not necessarily an afterfit.

As with the engines there are more variations on most bits than you would expect with TVR. Keep going; the man who never made a mistake never made anything.

I can't follow that but just for clarity the 400Se with 15" wheels had 225/50/15 and the 16" wheel cars generally had 225/50/16! (I know, bigger rolling radius etc...) 245 upwards was only fitted to very unusual cars like Stainlesses old SEAC.

TY JR for agreeing with me that some 350's had a 400SE style wheel, but not as wide.

When I said 235/245-45 16, these was the tires that was most comonly fitted to the tuscan 16" wheels of the same style, so keep the same rolling radius.
