I have a feeling that this is not possible but to cut a long story short my old PC died that had my music library on it so now all I have is my old i-pod with all my music on it and my new i-pod with nothing on it.

Is there any way to transfer songs from pod to pod or do I have to start again?

Cheers

Matt

Thanks for that. Now I know this is probably a dumb question but is that a new piece of software or is it simply an option available via i-tunes?

I would have thought you could have copied across the old files in the same way you would from any portable hard drive - not sue if this is what you are alluding to?

I have to admit though I have not had time to look at it the new i-pod is still all boxed up I just remember there being an issue many years ago when I tried something similar.

Cheers

Matt

Edited to add: Sorry retard mode off, I have just googled it and found the software, result! Many thanks.

As you've just found out it's a completely indepenedent piece of software; Apple (through iTunes) stop you from transferring from an ipod to computer to prevent you giving your mates songs onto their computer. The ipod is essentially a hard drive so you can copy from it to your computer using explorer, which is basically what you're doing with copypod, but it puts it in an easy way rather than the confusing hidden file names that Apple change it to. Hope that makes sense!
